It's as strange as it sounds....

So this happened to me once. Had a mirror that no matter how I sat in the seat or twisted myself up trying to get a good angle of vision everything was distorted or out of focus. Well after about a week and some serious questions regarding my sanity. It turns out the replacement mirror I purchased had a slight magnification to it. And to be clear, I did not want the mag on the mirror, seems like the worst thing you could do to a side mirror, but who knows maybe when we are all 80 we will need the extra mag on the mirror. It was an after market purchase. I would not be surprised if the factory glass was damaged in transport and an aftermarket glass was installed in its place.

Dammit, I knew coming back here was gonna cause me to spend money on things I don't need Been off TW for a few months since I don't have my truck (in storage due to being stationed in Korea), logged on to get a license plate mount since I'm getting my truck now, and of course I find more stuff I don't need but gotta have...

Get the dealer to look at it. If you want it faster, find someone who just replaced theirs with spotters.

Unfortunately I just threw mine away last week. "No one will want a stock driver's and a cracked passenger," I thought...

you can buy just the glass without the entire mirror assembly.

maybe the dealer damaged the mirror during shipping and they used the wrong replacement glass

Strange driver side mirror as well. Took a while to even notice it.

The glass appears to be ever-so-slightly warped. Think fun-house mirrors.

It really is a subtle warp though.

 

Yeah, I noticed after re-reading it this morning. I was tired and didnt notice when I replied last night.

 

What did the dealership say?

 

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to make it there today. Been working on the truck all morning. New grill, AC Drain Mod, Hood Struts, Tonneau Cover, Bed sticker removal, and now I have my son's baseball game. I'll keep you guys updated. Doesn't sound like I'm the only one out there that has this though

 

I finally made it to the dealer today after work. I let her drive and she noticed the same thing I did. They are ordering a new glass replacement and we'll see in a couple days if that does it.
