    Hello all,

Have any of you purchased the Course Motorsports mount for your Taco? I like the mount, but have a mag safe iPhone with a clear case to be able to see the phone. I don’t want to have to use the metal piece on the back of my phone if I don’t have too. Has anyone used this mount with a mag safe phone without the metal piece? Thanks much for any help!

Is the mag part on your phone a metal plate or a magnet itself

EDIT: looks like it's a magnet. Essentially you would be putting two magnets together, would make for a better hold

    Got this back:
    Hi,

Unfortunately our standard magnetic head is not Magsafe compatible so the steel pads must still be used.

    Cheers!

Guessing I can order the bracket and get a mag safe magnet? I’m new to all this. Yes the phone has a magnet and the case I have on does too.

    Hmmm

Maybe you could put the included steel pad directly on the motorsports magnet, then you place your phone on that steel pad? It comes with two sizes, a small round plate and a larger square one

not sure where the plate will end up when you take it off?

I have the CM charging mount and a MagSafe phone. At first, I didn't use the provided ring. Although it held the phone fairly securely it would fall off when hitting any significant bump. I have a minimalist case, and the ring doesn't add any bulk to the phone so I am now using it. It holds my phone super securely and I have not had any issues with it falling off.

I have the CM setup but decided not to use their magnetic head. I had a vent clip MagSafe mount that I had been using prior that I snagged off Amazon and it fit works perfectly.

I don't really need anything to charge it as both my Taco and Rav4 have wired CarPlay. So I am hoping maybe I can just get the brackets and use something else? I really don't want to have to stick anything on the case or the phone that will cover up the fact we got clear cases. These are the cases we have: upload_2022-9-29_16-47-24.jpg

I have a very similar case and it holds very well with this MagSafe attachment instead of their magnet. It has fallen off a time or two but it takes a pretty sever pothole to jar it loose.
I use it mostly as a holder but ran the cable to to the console so I can plug it in when I need to charge on longer trips.

So I ended up getting lucky in speaking with someone at course motorsports. They set us off with the mount, and a MagSafe magnet, and all of that was done and we will be receiving it within about four days after we ordered it go course motorsports!
