    Good day

I am going from 2nd Gen Tacoma to Tundra. 2022 model looks and drives great.

Torn between the limited TRD off road or spending and waiting for a TRD pro.

My primary driving is city with a small amount of off road for camping with the family. Likely not lifting from stock, just putting some beefier tires to stick out a small amount

TRD pro or TRD off road in Lunar Rock would be my choice.

I am torn as both look great but the TRD pro just brings it to a new level.

Do I spend the extra $$ for the TRD pro or go with the off road?

If money isn’t a concern get what will truly make you happy and be done with it.

    ^ Get the pro

unless you want fancy, then go capstone… not my style personally. I’d go with pro though

Pros are paid for right through 2023

most tundras are bought long before they arrive at a dealer.

Basically it’s not what you need, it’s what you can get.

I like the limited model off-road personally.

I hate the towing mirrors and the mild hybrid isn’t worth the money in my opinion.

The old TRD Pro Tundra basically amounted to a 2” lift up front with mid-travel shocks and exhaust. Others than that, it’s an appearance package. With the ‘22, you get far less ground clearance to begin with, only 1.1” lift up front, and less interior storage due to the hybrid battery, but it does come with some off-roading cameras you can play with. It also weighs as much as the old Tundra, and they had to raise its GVWR to 7600 lb to get it to a respectable payload rating. Hybrid economy comes in at 18/20. I bet it is fun on gravel roads, but it is not set up out of the box to really do more than that.

I just think you’re giving up a lot of utility to have that appearance package vs a ‘22 SR5 or Limited TRDOR with the non-hybrid drivetrain and a 2” suspension lift.
