Seems over priced in my opinion.

For that money I can deal with the cartridge style.

It seems like a nice piece . The only thing that worries me and could be a potential pain ,is when you remove the filter for an oil change , if the filter is tight it seems like you could spin off the adapter too. I wish it would lock in place .

I'm looking at these as well......I hate the cartridge just because I make such a mess.

Adapters like this are popular on sports cars and high performance engines because they allow you to run a better filter than the OEM cartridge setup. (I have one on my Porsche.) But personally I wouldn't bother on this truck, especially since its engine is naturally aspirated and doesn't have very tight tolerances. If you think you need cleaner oil, that money will pay for a lot of OEM cartridges that you can change as often as you like.

It does have a locking mechanism designed into it to prevent it from spinning off. I have one and love it. Well designed and manufactured. I also purchased the Baxter relocation kit that permits the filter to be located topside.
