You did give solid advice, I admit that was foolish of me even going there to fly drone, what if it was a cartel den and they know where I live and can mess me up bad if they suspect I was on to them.

Anyway, I checked police report online this morning, sent that link to insurance, insurance already know the GPS, so do the police

    It's up to them now

When 911 dispatcher asks if you have any weapons, tell them "of course!". That speeds things along.

my dashcam transmitted parking impact detected and connection lost around 2 am, and from the clue that radar sonar malfunction, they probably hacked it. Repo tow style theft probably shouldn't even need to bother with my dashcam and all

good to hear buddy; don't get discouraged if it takes them longer than you feel like it should take - it always does unfortunately. Its good to recognize you're opening up a can of worms by getting in between, and you don't deserve to catch any 'unwarranted' charges, or to unintentionally get in the way. For all you know, you could be holding the only piece of GPS evidence leading to a bigger operation than you could have imagined. You're just a good dude (I assume) that got his truck stolen. It sucks, but is the entire reason you carry insurance. Use it, make future corrections if you're unhappy with your coverage agreement, and leave the detective work to someone else. Hope it all works out. I absolutely hate a thief, and am currently waiting for something of mine to probably never be recovered. Shit happens.

The problem with living in the city is that I can set up motion sensing and alert all that, just too much traffic and too many false alarms

I'm seriously thinking country living, long single private gravel road to my house. I can rig that road with vehicle or some sort of metal or weight triggered alert so I can be sure not a deer or coyote.

If I don't expect any visitor, and someone's on that road, they have no business being there and I can prepare and get weapons ready

Mark seems like the kind of person that is telling the truth on this one. He’d probably Rambo the whole scene and come out with the truck and only the truck.

The truck wasn’t anywhere near where op got the last signal… that was where they cut it off and took it down to Mexico.

Seems to be rather speculative. Where are you getting this information from? I think we may be in a dead end conversation here.

For all we know that place has the nicest guy in the world. Saw some dudes loading up a truck on the road and called the cops, but no show. Now he's terrified they are coming for him after seeing some dude on the road flying a drone over his house.

I'm sticking with it being a cartel behind all of this. Makes for much better television.

If you want peace of mind, you should max out your liability limits so you can get matching UM/UIM coverage, and not fret about an extra $500 deductible.
