Finally got around to breaking down my Pro and Baja coilovers to see what the differences are. I made a post about it so it'll hopefully be easier for people to find when searching but wanted to link it here as well since we've talked pondered this in this thread.

I originally thought I was maybe going to throw the Baja springs on my Pro shocks. According to this info that would have netted almost 1.5" additional lift than with the Pro springs. In the end, I decided that was pushing it a little and am installing the Toytec spacers on my Pro coilovers. I also found that my lower shock bushings are pretty blown out (~30k on these) so not sure if I'll be pulling them again to replace that or perhaps just ditch this setup and step up to something else with more adjustability.

Yeah, my lower shock bushings are way off center and probably the source of my clunking. I ordered replacements but got the wrong mismatched set from the eBay seller.

I am tempted to just do that as I imagine its the cheapest option...sorta. My problem is I don't have a press so I'd have to find a friend/hookup who can do it or pay a shop to do it. And that doesn't seem like the best money spent. I'm tempted to sell all of these Baja/Pro parts (I should be able to get close to what I paid for them) and then see if I can find a deal on something else. The whole idea with this truck originally was to do everything on a budget but it's getting tempting to step up to some big boy suspension..

Cool thread. Skimmed it but Ill have to read through it at some point.

Im in the same boat right now with my Kings in terms of the lower spherical bearings. Only about 28k on them and they are shot (both fronts and at least one of the backs). Honestly Im bit disappointed but it is what it is. Ive got all the parts needed including bearings, spacers, snap rings, and new bolts just need to find a weekend I can drive up to my dads place and use his press.

Or maybe I just ditch them altogether and get something else that doesnt need to be rebuilt :D

@crashnburn80 what was the market price a few years ago when you tried one out?

@greenEFSI I think I remember seeing one on the Bay Area/north bay thread for $150 in the last year or two.

I'm thinking of putting in a magnaflow overland catback for more noise. The trd pro exhaust is a little too tame for me.

Check out the magnaflow xmod. You have 3 choice of sound levels. I have it on my Baja.

I feel like you'd be able to easily sell your TRD exhaust. Not sure what the 2nd gen ones are going for but the 3rd gen ones are probably $450+ on the used market if in good condition.

I found a 3rd gen TRD muffler and added it to my stock exhaust. I was blown away at how quiet it is. I feel like its no louder than stock except on cold start up.

I got the real good friend discount, aka free. I hated the TRD exhaust, it was on the truck for 2 days. I think I sold it for $175 and gave the majority to my friend.

So I got my “new” used suspension installed last week.
I went from stock TRD pro front w/ the toytec 1” spacer and rear w/ icon progressive AAL to 3rd gen TRD pro fox setup.
Overall I lost an inch in the front (lost the toytec spacer) but the rear stayed the same.
The ride is nice and comfy. It takes these shitty colorado potholes and roads nicely. Way better than before, but I’m comparing a fox setup to a 7 year old bilstien setup with 76k miles.

Overall I like the comfort, but am torn on the loss of height. Funny how 1” makes a difference. Time will tell what I decide.
