My 05 Tacoma recently developed a humming noise in the front end and some slight vibrations. The humming usually starts at around 25-30 mph and stops when I turn left. Any thoughts on what this might be cause by would be super helpful.

That sounds exactly like it's front wheel bearings time.

Interesting... I replaced both front wheel bearings and almost instantly I had the same issue again... I lost the vibes but still have the humming...@Mtmorriison maybe it's time for an alignment?? I've been chasing a front hum for a while... I've heard that it could possibly be cat shields to idler pulleys... I've replaced everything from the steering pump, to idler pulleys, to front wheel bearings.... The last thing in my bag of tricks is to get an alignment.

You got tubular upper control arms or lowers?

I have aftermarket uppers but stock lowers... As far as tubular... I'm not sure. They're Freedom Offroad Uppers.

I do think my lowers are at an odd angle after my lift but upon posting a picture a thread... People said they were fine since I rock a PreRunner

Yup those are tubular, (most aftermarket control arms are) and are thinner gauge meaning they hum.

Most tubular components hum, even my Camburg hum, that's why most auto manufacturers typically don't use anything tubular for suspension from the factory.

Huh... Good to know!! I was convinced I was going insane; I know I still need to get an alignment based on my steering wheel but at least I'm not as crazy as originally thought!

Have any clue why they hum? Sorry I have an inquiscal mind. (If that's how you spell it)

They're basically small resonant echo chambers, they kinda amplify road and tire noise and since they're more rigid than factory components they transmit more of the noise into the frame and thus you perceive more of it.

Performance stuff typically increases NVH (noise vibration and harshness) cost of having fun I suppose.
