    Darn,

That was going to be my guess. Kid had a similar issue recently and he assured me it wasn't the plugs because they were low mileage. After trying many other things he pulled them and one of the spark plugs had the side electrode broken completely off. Just gone. Infinite gap. Kid's got a PE with an MS in ME so it's nice to be able to still teach him a thing or two.

IIWY I'd consider investing in a quality scan tool. I bought a bluedirver that works with my tablet and LOVE it.

That was a year or two ago. There may be better ones out there by now....but that one gives you a lot more information that a standard $10 code reader. That being said....a $10 code reader is better than nothing!

    Update...
The NEW coil failed. BUT it would only trigger after driving for 15-20min. I broke down and took it in to the shop. I couldn't get it to act up in the driveway but on the way to the shop I could only do 30/35mph. They found the same and only got it while driving with a computer on it. After 20 min 6 started mis firing. Then when it got bad 5 started and then 3. But at idle in the shop it would not do it. Wierd AF but ultimately a defective part. Only cost me $247 I had laying around doing nothing....

Not surprised at all to see a defective coil especially an aftermarket one, I see it all the time. Had a Chevy Aveo we put 4 aftermarket coils on, 1st 1 lasted a month, 2nd one lasted a day, 3rd and 4th one lasted a week, we finally put an OE on it and it hasn't been back since.
