This thread reminds me of the one time I hit the Notch. I was a lot younger and took more risks. I did not make the turn at the bottom.

No snow on top, but they've been getting rain.

We actually self shuttled UPS to eagle eye to falcon Flow yesterday afternoon. UPS was great when we got on it. Also highly recommend the raptor route!

No one regrets this. Not with the modern FS rigs.

So.... hopefully going to look at this. https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/3443382/

A couple of things that I like about it are. It's not been used and abused too much, it's within my budget, it has more than 10 gears, with limited riding on a new geometry bike I'm not sure I like the modern geometry so this is a bit more old school and XC which I like/used to.

Any big things I should pay attention to when I look at it?

Is the bike still located in Costa Rica?

I’d ask about anything replaced on the drivetrain? Last service of any kind (owner or shop).

I’m going to guess most things are original and you are going to be needing to do some maintenance on:

    - Fork
    - Cables (no big deal)
    - Rear Deraileur likes to seize on XT in salty regions (may not be yet)
    - grips are probably going to need a replacement.

I’d be looking for a dropper post …

    …my 3 cents.

Thanks! through emails he used it when he bought it new for 100hours then moved to Costa Rica and put it in storage here where it's sat since. Has just been serviced by local shop. I'm waiting to hear what was done and if there were any recommendations from the shop.

I always go back to hard tails, usually ss. I have not rode a full squish that is as efficient as a hard tail.

Finished with North Klondike today. Totaled 70 miles over 5 days. I definitely was riding the fastest I ever have; got to follow two buddies who I've been trying to keep up with for years. We had some great flow trains going.

Also, that push 11-6 and new lyrik were outstanding on this terrain! The evil too, but I really think the suspension played the biggest role.

    Now back to reality...

Edit: I also saw the guy from hardtail party on porcupine rim!

Sweet, I wanted to try a new spring weight. After recommendations from Arrival forum members I'm going from Push's recommended 525, skipping WAO recommended 550, and going to a 575 and will adjust rebound and damping to match!

Also, before purchasing don't forget to sign up for Active Junky. They're currently offering 8% cashback on the subtotal at Backcountry. Shameless plug ACTIVE JUNKY

Anyone have a suggestion for riding the Zen trail in St George? Mixed reviews on Trailforks. Sounds like counter-clockwise is the way.

Also, besides Zen/Barrel & Gooseberry Mesa, any other suggestions on trails? Must go places to eat (preferably Mexicano)?

I prefer Zen CCW. But it's not the most fun trail, tbh. Barrel is SO much more fun. You can also link in teh bearclaw poppy features if you want from Barrel.

Check out "paradise Rim". Requires a bit of work to get it to all work but if you take the trail southbound, lots of fun features to be had.
Or if you want some more pedalling: church rocks/prospector/dino cliffs.

Almost mud season. All modern forks need to have a way to mount fenders without resorting to zips.

I do love my Fox Fender, and wish I was putting it to use. We haven't gotten rain a month.
Too dusty now and we got nothing from Hurricane Ian here in Alabama.

    Yeah.
Nice! I bought a Scott Syncros fender due to its clean install. That one looks like it has better coverage.

i didnt really pay attention to these until i went to crested butte bike park. you have to specially request them to load a bike with that fork/fender combo on the chair, otherwise the lift that holds all the other bikes will break it.

Gooseberry is good both ways, but I normally go CCW . Hidden canyon is quite good too.

Wire Mesa right next to Gooseberry is one of my favorites, plus the Guacamole network on the North side of the canyon from Gooseberry.

Suicidal Tendencies is great if you enjoy a punchy climb then a fun and ledgy ride back down a lollipop route.

Whiptail grill has a great smothered burrito and is one of my favorite places.

    Bit & Spur is good

River Rock Roasting in La Verkin is a good eatery for all 3 meals
