Did Fargo go through with trading the Pro for the Rav? Speaking of garages, mine is possibly as bad as its ever been. Between bringing everything that could fly away inside from the storm and hosting a 1 year Olds birthday party over the weekend, I'm tipping max capacity. I need to have a garage sale and I've only lived here 4 years.

Most working folks don't give a hoot about our mechanical history, what they care about is a reliable, affordable vehicle.
The cash for clunker program severely screwed up the automotive "food chain" so to speak.

Previously a well maintained first owner trade in with around 100k miles was a good value for the working man, he could purchase it for a reasonable cost and get several reliable years service.

Unfortunately under the program those good vehicles went to the crusher -- driving up the prices of the good ones left (hurting the working man) and unfortunately left the next tier down vehicles, the very high mileage ones, on the road.

A feeler email has been sent out to the dealership for what we're looking for but no reply yet.

Sorry to any car salesmen reading this(not really) but I thoroughly enjoy beating up on them really any chance I get. We bought my wifes Mdx at one of these no negotiation places-Echo Park, a nationwide chain, and it irked me to no end that I couldn't haggle. My wife doesn't even want to be around me when I'm doing the two step back and forth, maybe I'm a little intense. That's ok, I came down here for some skin and by God I'm taking some back with me.
I really enjoy playing dumb about features, powertrain etc at first. By the end of the last test drive I did I was in a limited Tundy telling the Sales Manager somebody swapped Trd Sport wheels on this puppy.
In closing, please beat them up for me. I've been hearing through email is about the best way to do it anymore. You can be as impolite as you want. Face to face it might be a little harder to show your complete arse.

I love seeing SR Tacomas go down the road with the wrong wheels. Makes me want to point and laugh a la Nelson.

She emailed the same dealership we bought the Highlander from. They were fair on prices and were good to work with.

Unlike our local dealership. Years ago, the sales manager there told us that "maybe you should be looking for a cheaper vehicle". We walked out on them for that one. A month later they begged us to come back. I said we would as long as that sales manager had nothing to do with the transaction.

Our local dealership knows they have the market cornered for almost 100 miles in any direction. The one in Minneapolis knows you'll just drive 6 miles to the next one if they don't play ball.

I don’t, buying an SR and upgrades is natural. What is crazy is buying a TRD or PRO and changing everything about it. What is sad, is that Toyota’s models are so hard set, versus GM/Chrysler/Ford. Accessories/Upgrades aren’t really dealership options anymore.

Yes, email and phone negotiations are the best way now. You can make your purchase a less than 30 minute in-person experience now. I’m also a HUGE proponent of shopping in other areas and states/markets. Sure, offer your local the opportunity to match… but if they can’t, it’s not your fault for taking the better deal. Mine couldn’t because of the trade he would have had to make to get what I wanted. No harm, no foul. New dealership was fine with me taking away… just asked that I give them a chance on trade or new purchases down the road. I’ve even seen airport pickups to make a deal…

Thanks for checking. The scary part of living alone

Went to some early morning friends on this ugly rainy morning to check in.

No health issues my ugly burn is healing fine

Lets just say the problem is internet access and computer hardware.

Plus Budget issues School taxes to pay!! Leave it at that.

A bit chilly up here above the Notches NH- mid 20s…. Hoping for a week long Indian Summer (is this an inappropriate phrase nowadays?) without rain to finish up my painting project.

Unrelated, the TWSS has been announced if anyone is interested.

    Happy Monday… ugg.

Agree, I worked outside yesterday afternoon and it was perfect. Nice temp to work without sweating your accessories off and no little black bugs. :)
    Better sleeping weather too.

Honestly, I'm truly surprised at how quick my wifes hybrid Highlander is... I can only imagine the Tesla.

I don't want to know the price(s) but I'm willing to bet you can get more for the SR5 PRO than you paid for it :D

I know it is the way of the future and all that but... :(

Fast isn't the entire experience for me.

Driving is my primary form of recreation, I enjoy driving -- from the sporty(ish) manual Tacoma, the clunky, dusty old daily van, the dinosaur 1946 forklift, even my ZT mower -- I enjoy driving, they all engage me or challenge me in different ways.

Fuel powered vehicles demand some observation and attention to details to perform well, some skills need to be developed, one has to stay on their game -- I see the modern electrics as simply "mash it and go" the computer has all the skills, the fellow in the seat is just along to say "go".

While I agree Rusty and I enjoy huffing gas fumes as much as the next guy, it's akin to being in a Spaceship. It's also sanitary. I enjoy going fast, but I really enjoy things being clean and sanitary. Put fast and sanitary together, hell I might think about having one.
