Anyone see any issues with the Redarc towing brake controller?

Mine has been like turning off, or rebooting. It will work fine for a while, but then other times while driving it will blink the red/off fault.

Its plugged into the stock Tacoma loom, the truck has the tow package, and Ive checked the wiring and fuses throughout and havent found any issues or shorts.

Curious if anyone has experienced any issues with theirs.

I aint cool to find the brakes arent working once your already barreling down a mountain.

I'd contact MFG, maybe you can send it in for testing or repairs? Hell, they might even just send you a refurb out if yours is bad, even out of warranty.
You are right though; you want to make damn sure that thing is working, a flaky one is no better than not having at all, maybe worse if you are relying on something that is not there w/o notice.

The flashing red indicates a bad trailer ground. Try cleaning up the ground connection on the trailer to see if the intermittent fault goes away.

Mine does this too. It has completely stopped working now. Trailer brakes work on another truck, so it's either the unit or the truck. I did have luck a couple of times removing and replacing the same fuse on the truck but that seems to have stopped working now. Have yet to really troubleshoot it.
