On the 9th of Sept, I was hit while going to get lunch. The other driver was pulling out of the driveway of a parking lot and hit me in the right rear tire. Impact spun me out, over the curb, and into a tree. Missed the hydrant to my left by about a foot. Barely was able to get the driver door open and get out due to damage. Current damage is assessed at 15k. No airbag deployment, no frame damage according to the rack machine.

It won't be the same after this, so gonna have to trade in for a new one. 2020 TRD OR 4x4 in QS. Trying to see what I can do for a '23 TRD OR 4x4 with tech package, ideally in Lunar Rock. This market sucks to figure this out in. Only consolation is that diminished value check should make me whole.

Link to photo album (more pics)

I'll try and get the total breakdown of what was discovered by the collision shop thus far.

I feel for you. I got rear-ended last Thursday. Hopefully no frame damage - we will see.

Sorry to see your truck get torn up like that, at least you didn't hit the fire hydrant.

Other guy was an off-duty cop (in uniform) in a C300 shitbox. He got to drive home. My truck was disabled, undercarriage was actually resting on the tree it came to a stop in.

    Dammit man. That sucks!!

Hell, I would have rather hit the hydrant. There’s a shear flange for impacts like this.

That sucks! On the bright side, it wasn’t a hit and run situation. Some jack wagon hit my bumper in a parking lot and didn’t have the balls to leave his info.:annoyed:

looks like you're in FL. My 2017 was totaled in november when I was rear ended by some lady not paying attention to the fact that I-75 in Tampa was stopped and she was going 70. My suggestion is put down some deposits ASAP. Do not wait for your insurance, do not wait until the weekend. My 2022 4wd OR lunar rock with tech took me 4 months to find. 2 deposits at dealers went nowhere. Ended up finding one up in GA on the excel sheet that's here on TW and was able to put a deposit down over the phone. It's rough out there, good luck and glad you're ok.

The important value that was inside of the truck is ok. That’s all it matters. On a side note, this son of a b delayed your lunch.

Sorry you have to go through this... :pout:

But I may be in the minority of people who would say get it repaired and carry on many more years with it. There's plenty of reputable shops out there that you won't ever be able to tell anything happened to it. But hey, everybody is free to do as they choose, that's what makes this part of the world great! :D

My 2018 was hit in almost the same place and looked a lot like yours (see thread "Had my truck just the way I wanted it"). The cost was a little over $10,600, but you cannot tell that it was ever in a wreck (other than the CarFax). No other damage to drain train. I also got diminished value. I hope it works out for you!

Time to increase my insurance limits on mine, careless drivers plus over 10k on modification and most people carry the bare minimum

I kinda agree, looking at the pics it doesn’t seem all that bad (Sorry OP, I know it sucks for you right now)
If the body-shop is a proper, modern repair shop with a good reputation and they’re saying the frame has been laser measured straight and it’s repairable?........I’d prob go that route rather than waiting for who-knows-how-long for a replacement truck in this current, insane market.....
    Keep your options open anyway.
