Hit it with 220 sand paper. Use north/south, east/west strokes. Good luck.

I have used the rain x washer fluid for years, always seems to leave a nice coating on after using it and water beads up and wipers clear it really well.

    This thread is fucking hilarious!

As far as some constructive advice if that's even possible at this point; really clean the windshield and then apply some Rain-x. This ain't rocket science brother!

Clean the glass with BarKeepers friend. Verify the blades are supple and clean.

    That's it.

wrap around the blades and let the wipers do the work?

Rainx that’s all I use. Keeps the windscreen nice and clear when it’s moist out. Speaking of moist. It’s only Tuesday.

I think I have an idea of what the OP is trying to describe; I have the same issue too with my 2018. There are times when a splotchy "film" of sorts materializes on the outside of the windshield surface, when it's raining. Each wiper wipe makes it almost disappear but then it comes back.

Seems to happen more when it's warmish out during high periods of humidity.

I've tried using the windshield defrost in different settings, cold to hot and also using fresh air instead of recirculating, to no avail.

Nothing has ever been applied to my windshield, no waxes other than car washing soaps.

There is indeed something odd about this front windshield glass. I'm hesitant to treat it with something else such as Rain-X, since it could compound the issue.

Exactly. Thank you for identifying the problem. Probably my fault for wording it incorrectly.

I use RainX and it has to be pouring before needing to even use the wipers. Before RainX I used car wax.

I basically drove mine in the rain for the first time today and kind of noticed the same as what you're describing. Band new truck, I tend to think the dealer didn't really do a great job in their prep-cleaning. I even noticed a 5 or 6 inch "circle" as the wiper passed which I'm guessing is from the suction cup the factory probably uses to install it. I was thinking some #0000 steel wool and window cleaner. Of course I'd try a small spot in the corner first but I remember the detailers at the dealers I used to work at using it for stubborn stains on windshields.

I use the rain-x all season washer fluid and it really does seem to help with water beading up

I like using that too. Worth the extra dollar or two.

^^This. It's pretty amazing what a good job the RainX washer fluid does. There are times I don't have to even turn my wipers on if the rain is light enough. Just beads right off in the wind. Also, change out your wiper blade inserts. The OEM wiper blades are actually pretty good, so get yourself some new ones. Between that and the RainX washer fluid I bet you will notice the difference.
