Poly pro uca w ddb bushing

Just installed mine yesterday, getting it aligned this afternoon, I'll update after that is done.

I went with the Polyperformace vs. other brands because I don't need crazy off roading ability or tons of adjustability. I go down some pretty bumpy class 4 roads to get out to rock climbing and hiking, but no real wheeling. I don't plan to get bigger tires than what I have (265/75/16), so rubbing shouldn’t be an issue. I got these UCAs for $420 shipped after applying a first responder discount code. I was on the fence between these and the JBA, but the $80 difference swayed me.

Install was fairly straight forward, there are tons of good write ups on here which helped a lot. Getting the long UCA bolts out was the biggest pain in the ass. I didn't have to remove the battery, but did have to remove a 10mm bolt holding a wiring harness on the driver side. The passenger side I couldn't bend the pinch weld enough so had to tap it out using a punch and scrape the bolt head over the metal. It took a while but it went. I bought new bolts for the UCAs, but not washers so I reused my old ones. In retrospect, I should have gotten new washers too, just to make everything new and shiny. All in all took 5 hours, probably could have gone faster but had to put things away and take the dog for a walk after hour 2.

The new UCAs are pretty sweet looking, quite beefy. I installed them with 5100s and the toytec 2.5" coilovers. I was in a hurry to get the job done before the rain so didn't take pre-install pictures. I currently have a Headstrong AAL in the rear, with the overload removed. Going to install the Dakars next sunny day we have. Im looking to get it level, maybe a slight rake. Right now its a little squatted looking, hopefully it'll settle in the front.

Alignment numbers with thr new set up. Pretty nice that it landed right at 3.2 of caster.

 

Do you recommend these? I’m thinking about getting them for my Tacoma. They’re a very small brand so I’m not sure if I trust them compared to SPC

 

They are going well so far, only a few hundred miles on them. No offroading yet, just some bad mud season dirt roads. The build quality seems really solid. I guess it depends what you are looking for, but I am happy with mine so far.

 

Anyone have any more updates on these? Considering purchasing

Added some 315/75/16 tires UCA clears still rub when fully locked. will see if a allighment helps?

 

Any one else Have squeaks from UCA bushings?

 

These look interesting... Was considering the JBA's but may change my mind.

Can I ask what model of JBA's did you go for?

Yes I ended up resting the washers after derusting and coating them.

btw these UCAs are fantastic. Super beefy. Very smooth, and no squeaking. I have them on a 1.75” lift and had no trouble with alignment.

 

Does anyone with a 33 inch or bigger tire have have a before and after installing these control arms have input on rubbing at the cab mount? I was hoping they would help get the tire moved a little more forward and stil have a good alignment.

 

I installed the UCAs myself at the same time as wheels/tires/lift and dropped my truck off at a shop for alignment and cab mount chop work. When I got my truck back I questioned If I even needed the cab mount chop to begin with. It seamed like they got enough clearance by pushing the wheel forward. I will note I have a high clearance front bumper so its possible my wheels can be pushed further towards the front that maybe a stock bumper can. I didn't even have to pull back fender liner and hammer the pinch welds. I only requested the cab mount chop work because everyone says its needed with 33 inch tires. I'm running the the BFG KO2's in size 285/70/17 on RRW wheels (RR7-H 17x8.50). The wheels have -12mm offset and I believe around 4.28" of backspacing. Hope that helps!

Thank you. I have -25 off set wheels with 285 75 16. My rub isn't bad but its there. With my research I've been doing I don't think I need the aftermarket ucas now for alignment purposes becasue im only slightly lifted. I may just get the cab mount chop done to fix the rub. But I do need upper ball joints so that's why I was thinking about forking out the extra money for the ucas.
