When I'm making a u-turn, at full lock, I feel my truck kind of....jumping. Almost feels like the wheel has a hump in it. It doesn't, I'm just using that to illustrate the symptom. What could be causing this?

Are you in 4WD by any chance? That sounds like a bind coming from the truck. If not in 4WD, possibly it's stuck?

If he were in 4X4 the truck would probably not move, or something would break if at full lock on a hard dry surface.

Maybe scrub radius attributes with these vehicles. Mine definitely "hops" through the turn as if it's axle binding but I think the larger tire combo and suspension setup just make it more pronounced. Only happens with full lock u turns and not anything under 90% turned.

Yeah, hard no. The stresses put on the driveline wheeling far exceeds that. Check out some wheeling videos in Moab, it's basically sandpaper.

If you break something, your driveline needed repair anyways.

Maybe he's feeling the front tires scrub at full lock. If the tires go over a slippery surface like a manhole cover it can jerk when it gets to the other side

I was thinking the same thing. I was pulling out of my driveway about 4 months ago and the truck just stopped as I turned the wheel. I was like, "Ok, wtf is that about." Then I realized the 4wd knob must have been bumped and it was in 4wd. Once in 2wd it was obviously fine.
If you already have some momentum the tires will easily scrub and it won't buck as bad as when you're hardly moving. It's way worse then. A full lock U-turn would suck pretty badly though lol.

And those guys routinely break stuff. If you're gonna play, you have to pay. Breaking stuff is just part of it. The thing that helps those guys is the steep angle means very little weight on one axle then the other. Often 1 and sometimes 2 wheels not even touching the ground. Sitting level on a hard surface is much worse.

BTDT, broke stuff and paid for the repairs.

you might be on to something. I noticed it much more when the road was wet.

They're pretty new Toyo Open Countrys. So, doubtful.

Off cuff here… did you recently replace your read diff fluid? And, does yours require anti friction modifier? Motorcraft product.

I mention this because when I did my 06 back when I didn’t know I needed it but found out right away at the first turn.

    good luck

No, I haven't replaced it in about a year. But thanks for the suggestion.
