I agree with your sentiment but you left out the mild lift on the trail edition.

Easy to clean. Easy to install, I don’t know what everyone complains about it hurting their fingers when they install them. Look factory. Got dark grey and light grey inserts, with blue stitching. Matches all the rest of the interior as I’ve got a shift boot and e brake with blue stitching and some other blue trim pieces from ajt designs.

That's funny, I thought the Spirt was the worse. How does a non-functioning skewp make it a TRD???? Thats screams PT Barnum to me.

OP, I'd take a Trail edition over a Spirt any day. For best results, get the Off Road, and be done with it.

You'd also spirt out $3,800 more for the trail edition.

All that B_Loco said. The tech package (360 camera system, BSM, rear parking sensors, adaptive CC) is nice to have, the heated seats here in Colorado are almost a must-have, and the fauxleathertech is so far holding up well against the toddler's wrath.

    Oh look, another mod....
Nothing is worse than the wrath of a toddler. How do they manage to get sticky hands & face all the time? It's like they bathe in maple syrup!

I have a trail… but OP for your needs I’d recommend what others said: find an OR you like, get the TRD factory lift and you’ll get the heritage grill with it, then choose the rims you want and call it a day.

I would have done it this way if I had the time to wait, but I would have been 15th in line for an OR allocation at MSRP, or I would’ve paid out the nose in dealer markup for one already in transit. My dealer hadn’t even heard of the trail edition so I was first in line for the next allocation.

Like you I wanted the locker and that was about the only requirement. For what it’s worth I actually like the absence of crawl control/mts. Less shit to have gremlins appear in 10 years from now.

My current TRD Sport didn't come with the TRD exhaust, but I liked it on my previous 2nd Gen so I had them order the exhaust and install it before I took delivery. The price was added to the monthly payment. They will do the same for the lift. You want it done before you take delivery or have a receipt and agreement to install it when it comes in because having it installed after you sign the contract means you will have to pay up for the cost of labor. If you have it installed before you take delivery or have it in the contract to be installed when the parts arrive at the dealership you don't pay the labor cost.

The same is true for any accessory item you see on toyota's build it website. Running boards, custom wheels, roof racks, and all that stuff under the accessory tab are usually dealer installed items anyway, they don't usually come directly from the factory floor with that stuff installed.

in a 4x4 with off road features the OR has the best bang for the buck but it seems you want the creme de mint color and things can be added for alot cheaper after
