Good morning, everyone. Another lazy day planned. Rained again last night and it is 47 out this morning so no work in the backyard. Hitting the workbench area in the garage, it needs a good clean-up. Everyone have a good day.

Finally got out hunting this morning, we saw 5 deer and we got wet, they weren't calling for rain!

 

Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, saw the Doctors' PAC after rashing my hand pretty good with the wire wheel last week. Got a tetanus shot, some ointment, and antibiotics. Took a good nap after errands, and slept through making dinner. Some frozen pizza to the rescue. Good thing just some simple putz on the agenda this week!

 

Tom - Is that single chair in the photo the "director's chair" or the resting station? I always have to keep mine hidden or a "director" appears.....

 

Wishing We had some of your rain, or maybe a bit of the deluge they had in FL. We havent seen hardly a sprinkle in the last 4-5 weeks here in central Mo. I overseeded my yard and I am getting tired of watering.

 

Be careful what you wish for. Try four years of drought and the water police won’t let you water your grass, and any water from a big storm becomes runoff to be wasted. Then there’s those that get hit with dangerous, destructive storms every year. We’re a bunch of old men talking about the weather, and can’t do a damn thing about it.

 

Good thoughts, however we get most our city water out of the Mo. river. Granted, our water company rates are high, but when the Mo. River dries up -we would be in a biblical (terrible) drought.

 

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

Rained all day yesterday, still raining this morning. I was hoping to cut the grass today...that won't be happening until the ground dries out a bit. I've still got a few things to do to complete the bar in the basement so that will probably be my project du jour.

 

I know winter's coming when I hear acorns hit the roof, spouting, downspout, then the underground drain, and out to the squirrels. If I don't hear all the stages, it's time to blow the system.

 

Good morning, everyone. Rained or drizzled all day and night yesterday. Rain is supposed to stop around noon today. We were going to see Alan Jackson in Atlantic City this Friday night then head up to Asbury Park on Saturday. The show is postponed. I was able to cancel the Asbury Park hotel reservations, but I need to call the actual hotel in Atlantic City to cancel. If I get any other response other than cancelled, I will call my credit card company.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!

It stopped raining here yesterday afternoon and we got some sun, finally. Still too wet to cut the grass so I'll probably do that tomorrow.

I picked up the last trim boards I need for our new bar - cut them to size and Lynn painted them. I'll put those in place today - now just waiting for the last of the connectors to arrive for the shelf lighting. They are supposed to be here today so, hopefully, the bar will be complete tomorrow afternoon.

Getting our whole house generator serviced this afternoon and then off to the college's student-run restaurant this evening.

Thought of you yesterday. We are having a family reunion, mothers' side, next August. The organizer posted up a pick of the pavilion where the reunion meal will be held. In the pic was a beautiful fireplace with two rocking chairs. I called dibs on the rocker in the right side of the picture. Your training helped out with the quick claiming. LOL

My visit with the sports medicine orthopedic doctor did not go well yesterday. I have Arthritis in the left knee. It is bone on bone in the back of the knee joint. I start a lubrication shot series next Wednesday.

Sun can out yesterday so I fired up the smoker for a chicken and a healthy version of Mac&Cheese. Both came out great! Today is a quick grocery store run and a gas fill up before the prices skyrocket, even though the US only imported 6% of our crude in 2021 from Saudia Arabia. It might be more due to the war in the Ukraine.

Still too muddy to work in the back yard today.
