My 06 recently started dripping red thick oil front end. Cannot locate source. Any ideas what it is and where it might coming from?

Automatic transmission fluid is red. Transmission fluid is also used (by some) in the power steering.

Sounds like ATF. Brake clean everything and see where it's coming out.

Check the transmission cooler lines and power steering lines. Could be a rusted hard line or cracked hose. 16-17 year old parts.

I’d bet it’s from the power steering system.

Check PS reservoir. If it’s full, it may be transmission. You need to get under there and look at your truck

The hard steel power steering lines going across the front core cuppor under the radiator are prone to rot out and can leak, which the fluid is red in this case. Had the same issue on my '09, they were pretty crispy, but weren't leaking yet. But one wrong look and I think they would popped.
