As far as strength and quality, go with a good set and you’ll be golden. I’ve only every run SpiderTrax and they’re solid. I’ve run them for tens of thousands of miles in many different vehicles, with many miles off-road. Overall great experience, though I typically run 1.25” and not more.

In my opinion, quality wheel studs and a quality anodized coating are two key ingredients.

As far as off road stresses from using them, as other have said, relatively small spacers are no worse that the offset most aftermarket wheels come with. There’s a compromise there, but it’s mostly negligible.

Here’s my stock 21 Tacoma with 1.25” spacers.

Looking very good, thanks for the input. Idk the difference in backspacing between factory aluminum rims and the steel rims, but with your aluminum rims there, do the tires actually stick out past the fenders with the 1.25 spacers ?

The tires sit just inside the fender edge, at least in relation the top horizontal section of the fender. They do sit a little outside the side vertical sections of the fender, since the bottom of the fenders curve in a bit.

Here’s the only other pics I have of my truck, spacers on in each.

I run 12.5" wide tires with spacers in the rear only. Tires stick out from the fender about 1.5" in the front and about 3" in the rear.

I wheel my truck super hard and while the tires have on a rare occasion served as a bumper to an obstacle I have enough body damage to conclude thats its pretty moot. Better to just have a good spotter.

I'd do 1.25" if you want simple bolt on, but you may introduce some rubbing due to increased scrub radius.
Could go a bit thinner at 1" but you may need to grind down the ends of the factory wheel studs a little bit to get them flush. Some wheels have an indented 'pocket' between each of the lug recesses and you may be able to get away without grinding them down if yours happen to have that. Just ensure they're fully seated and not pressing into the mounting surface of the wheel or there will be vibes and potential for stud failure and a wheel coming off.

You can make it work, you will have to adjust for figment is all. But most likely you will see some rubbing on cab mount or plastics or both.

I agree. Get sliders instead of spacers...

Great pics! Where is that tunnel? I've been across a lot of Colorado and it doesn't look familiar. Thanks!

I have hundreds of miles off road on mine without issue. 1.5” front and 2” rear.

Brand is Bora. But I’ve also ran spidertrax on other vehicles. Both great.

It’s on CR96 (it’s a state park fee road) that follows the South Platte River leaving Lake George and headed down the canyon to Eleven Mile Reservoir. It’s a short cut through, not so much a “tunnel”, maybe 100’.

There’s some decent camp spots off Wagon Tongue Gulch Rd. It can be accessed from a non-fee road to the east, but we went down the canyon for the views.

I don’t have a picture with more flex, but with my fiberglass and 2” hub centric bora spacers, the tires still don’t make contact with anything. Would have to ask someone with stock fenders about the result. I’ve wheeled with these spacers once a month the past 5 months and have not run into any issues yet. Used loctite on install and I don’t do intensive rock crawling though.

I am sure having a wider space puts more stress on the outer portions of the axle so more testing would have to be done.

None whatsoever, even at full flex, full turning, forward/backing, turning over bumps at speed, etc and neither on and off road.
