Can anyone recommend a good performance shop that services Tacoma in the metro Detroit area?

I’ve called a few and they said they don’t work on foreign vehicles.

I’m looking remedy the obnoxious “gear hunting”. I’m also displeased with the low end torque, hoping there is a solution for that.

 

Depending on your tire size a Nitro re-gear will fix the gear hunting. I am running 5.56s https://www.nitro-gear.com/Toyota-Tacoma-Nitro-Gear-Packages-s/308.htm but I also have 35s.
Combine that with a tune, @mZiggy with Yotawerx can assist you there. You may want to do the tune 1st. This is a relatively inexpensive modification that you can do yourself with a little guidance. It may correct the issue depending on your driving style.

I have a good relationship with a mechanic that wrenches on the side that might be interested in switching out your rear-end gears. It's not an overly complex job but it's obviously got to be done right. If you're interested I can get you in touch with him, but he's up in the St Clair area.
