Camper bed cap, led fog lights, LED/HID upgrade kits for highs & lows, custom paint job, +/- 4" lift (more like 3" on the driver's side and 5" on passenger side...gotta love the taco lean), big 5 wire upgrade, custom painted interior, satin black paint job that looks like shit because it was my first time painting a vehicle, custom audio system and a big booty butt load of random off road and work lights. That being said it is a DLX and I really didn't need to do any mods because obviously it's the DELUXE edition
So in trying to organize The rat's nest that exists under my steering wheel in my 98 base model (at least I thought it was a base model but apparently the VIN says it's a DLX... Not really sure that there's any difference anyways) I came across this plug that was Tangled up In some wires it's got a blue wire with a yellow stripe and a red wire with a navy stripe. I've searched all across the internet and Tacoma world and can't find anything regarding either this extra plug or these wire colors that being said I'm sure I may have missed a thread where it has been discussed... Regardless Tacoma world help me out here is this just a plug that comes in the factory wiring hardness for some electronic system that might bare Bones DLX does not have (cruise control, traction control, fog lights, etc.) Or is this potentially an incredibly awesome plug that when plugged in will unlock some hidden herspers and stop me from having to downshift into 4th (and sometimes 3rd) when hitting a semi-steep hill on the highway!?!
No seriously anybody have any idea what this plug is for I've looked around and I don't see a matching female plug anywhere within the reach of it which is why I'm assuming it's just an extra piece on the factory wiring harness for say a nicer model Taco of the same year. It would give me great peace of mind just to know what it's for and if it's at all something I could potentially utilize in the future.16651631894444360151154667829400.jpg 16651632705643375419567608648748.jpg

Seriously no one? Maybe I posted this in the wrong spot perhaps I'll try again tomorrow but I am determined to figure out what the hell this plug is for.

Does your truck have all the bells and whistles? A lot of Toys use the same wiring harness for every vehicle in a model, so it could have something to do with an option your truck doesn't have... until you install it. I bought a 2012 Taco and it didn't have cruise control, but for about $15 I bought the lever from Amazon and once it was plugged in I had cruise.

I have no idea about your truck/year, but I'd suspect some kind of missing option first.

Does it happen to stretch over to near the ignition? It might be for the digital clock. I don't remember the wire colors, but the connector should be a four pin connector. I added the clock, intermittent wiper stock, sr5 rear window, among other upgrades to my base model. It's been great. :)
