For consideration for people concerned with codes and having them turned off:

When I had my Tacoma Ecoboost with the catted downpipes included in my kit, I ran Fabspeed O2 sensor spacers with mini-cats, used them on the rear o2's, which successfully prevented the codes from popping.

This may be a bit more expensive than some people are willing to pay, understandably, but they did work *for me*. YMMV.

i had the original OV prototype catless dump tubes on my truck for 24 hours only, they leaked like crazy right into the cab with a CEL. i removed them the next morning, so i didn't have time to assess anything or try to handle the CEL. someone can correct me, but iirc the front cats will bring a code that can't be removed... anyone confirm?

removing rear cats creates a Not Ready state, but the CEL can be turned off in vF. with the front cats I'm not sure.

the OV high flow catted dumps are a good option and have done everything i wanted. they are 200cell i believe. they run more freely than OE cats and from a 24 hour run they seem about the same as the catless. i would go with the high flows again if it was me.

another point to handle is removing the front cats entirely would put more challenge on sound control, and if you do that in a typical way then you'll shut down much of the performance you just worked for. keeping a good flowing whole exhaust that sounds decent and is responsive is definitely a real trick with this motor. but it can be done.

    Hello All,

So I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, But i had OV years ago and now 2 years later I got 5.29 gears and want to retune. I now see that OV Tune is VF tunner and i have the program now and am ready to Re Tune but I dont think i have any of the files. I saw on the news letters on the VF tuner site that Matt posted the files but it looks like they are gone. This post was from 2020. I emailed matt to see if I can still get those files but i understand that he is closed over the weekend. I am hoping to flash my truck this weekend before a trip.

Would anyone be able to help me out with the Files? My ECU is 04b04 AT. I have the old files but they are in pf5 format

    Thank you All

you need to update your software - go to the OVTune web page - although you may have waited so long to update you may have to contact them at the zendesk for help. New files are VFC and lots of changes/improvements have been made to the software since pf5.

I contacted zendesk and they said I just need to update by clicking the link on website. I haven't found any link. One post said to go to the help tab and download should be right there..... there is no help tab ..

And remember to uninstall the old vft via apps -uninstall before download and install of 1.6.....

And remember your OBD device must be connected to your computer when installing and using (before install and launch)

That looks like your antivirus software kicking in. You’ll need to tell the Nannie’s that it’s okay.

I'm a total noob, but I want to use this with 35" tires and 5.29 gears. is there an easy way to mod this file to work with my set up?

Holy shit man! That tune is like 2 years old. There's MUCH better stuff out there now. Hit me up on a PM and we can figure out what it is you're looking for.

    Stawk as FUCK!
Any chance we can bounce off the limiter in 4-high when all the traction control Nannie’s are off? I drive up big sand hills and want to bang off the limiter without having the ECU drop me down to 3000RPM completely out of the powerband which could put me in a bad spot REALLY quick.

My work around is just feathering the throttle between 4500-5900RPMs while climbing just before the limiter hits but there’s time where I wish I could just bang off of it it to keep my wheels moving.

I grew up riding in the sand dunes for my whole life so I know how to drive in the sand. Pic of wife & taco for attention
