Have you found them really easy to clean or do they leave marks from the chemicals?

Just ordered the Clazzio covers and their Toyota style switch seat heaters for my 4Runner. I’m sure its the same install process as the Tacomas as far as wiring goes.

Has anyone here purchased the Toyota style one they offer on their website? Did you peel back the factory seat and install the heating pad, put the factory seat upholstery back on and then finally put the Clazzio seat cover on? Could I just put the heating pad in between the factory seat and Clazzio cover? As for wiring, is there an easy method to wire this in? I just want it to prevent it from accidentally turning on potentially killing the battery. So I want it to only be able to turn on when the key is in accessory or engine running.

Those red stitched ones look amazing. I REALLY do not like seat covers and have never fancied for them - but these look incredible. Hmmmmmm... Do I? (2022 TRD OR)

Will be getting a set for the Tundra soon. Still not sure on color yet.

Just installed @Clazzio DK Gray PVC. Took my time. Fingers are sore, ripped couple of dry fingernail beds. I waited so long to finally replaced my (fronts only) $25 fake leather EBay covers. Due to install difficulties, I should have gone with full leather. I did remove the front seats. The PVC looks/feels good and worth it.
But it won’t be as durable as the Napa Leather.

Can't answer for you, but I am really impressed with how good they look. I needed them for practical reasons - my dog is always in the car and often muddy, and I live in the desert where it's super dusty, so the material of the cover is way easier to keep clean than the original fabric. So my expectations were really more about the utilitarian purposes - but I'm damn happy with their looks. My truck is Barcelona Red, so the stitching ties in really nice that way too.

Oh and like others said above, literally no one knows/believes they are covers. They look so natural and good.

Can anyone here recommend a good product to wipe their PVC covers down with to keep them looking clean and new? Something off the shelf that I can easily find at places like Walmart, O’Reilly, Autozone, etc. Preferably doesn’t leave a glossy or greasy look/feel or any weird odors would be best.

I use all purpose orange oil. Cleans and freshens. :anonymous:

I do have a box of Meguiars leather wipes, and that really makes them shine and all, but holy crap they are slicker than buttered snot when I use those.

Do you think the Orange Oil would work okay on the covers I have that leather/pvc combo? Wonder what @Clazzio would recommend. And good to know about the leather wipes - just looking for clean, not a slip n slide Lol

I used 303 aerospace protectant on all plastics, leather (real or fake) PVC, my Tonnoeu cover (TruXport still looks good after three years) and more. Not greasy and not too shiny.
But this is what they suggest in their website.

I got the Toyota style switch but I can't help with the wiring part; I have a 2nd gen and got some help in that department b/c if I did it, it would be janky AF + probably kill the battery..

I took the seats out to do the install b/c I didn't want to struggle in the cab.

I put the heating pad between - over the factory seat cover and under the Clazzio - takes a minute to get warm [compared to my car with OEM heated seats] but completely does the trick.

I sprung for the full leather, grey insert with black shell to match the interior and dark green stitching which is hard to see but is a nice looking detail = matches my Spruce Mica paint.
One year on, they still look as good as the first day and seem to be holding up well - the driver's seat and passenger seat covers look the same but the passenger seat never gets used ;)

Did you happen to take any pictures of the heating pad on the factory seat before you put the seat cover over it?

I put mine between the factory seat cover and the Clazzio cover as well. The sticky tape is stuck to the Clazzio cover. I slid them in, lined then up, the awkwardly peeled back the tape and pushed down.

As for wiring I used a ground under the front cup holders. The two hot wires were connected together to a single wire and I ran that through the firewall near the brake pedal. This connected to a relay from the auto parts store, then the other side of the relay to the battery through a fuse that is 2x the individual fuses. I think it's a 20amp. The trigger side of the relay, one goes to ground, the other uses an add a fuse to ing4 (I think) in the fuse panel under the hood.

Basically correct. However it also depends on what else is feeding off the original source wire.

I got my seat heaters running off accessories (acc).

    Here's what I'm seeing:

    upload_2022-10-19_8-21-12.jpg

X4 pads, thats a potential max draw of 120Watts, or 12 Amps.

While that isn't humongous, I still wouldn't try to add-a-fuse that kind of draw. Personally I'd bring in a new power source from the engine bay with a minimum 12 gauge wire and an inline 15A fuse.

So how exactly would i do that? i’m not the greatest at wiring.

It seems that everyone else that installs these heated seat kits use add a fuse. have been reading around for a few days trying to get the best answers on how to hook this up.
Last i want to do is bring it somewheres to have them install either.
Could i just use 2 add a fuses for this install instead? one for passenger seat one for driver? or would that not be ideal

For me that's actually easier than trying to tap into the interior fuse panel.

Buy a length of 12G, red-colored wire. Fish it through the grommet on the driver's side firewall. I usually tape the end of the wire to my big screwdriver, gently work my way through the grommet ( starting from under dash and going towards engine bay), then grab and pull the wire on the other side. You just have to take care at not damaging any of the other wire harnesses that are using the same grommet (and there are a lot).

Hook it up to your switches and clean up the interior, then in the engine bay, route your wire, attach your inline fuse, and hook it to the battery positive terminal. For your negative, there are a myriad of ground paths hidden throughout the cab. It helps if you find a bolt near your switches with ground wires already attached to it - attach your new negative to that bolt.

But if i connected it directly to my battery wouldn’t that give it power at all times?
i only wanted the heated seats to have power when the truck is running.
i want to be able to leave the switch on if it’s cold so when i remote start the truck the heated seat would be running as the truck is warming up.
