I'm worried that my dashcam will get stolen one of these days. The neighborhood is not the best when it comes to low crime.

I want to place it so that it's not too obvious from the outside, yet doesn't miss anything while driving. The camera has a mechanism where it allows me to unfasten it and remove it via multiple screws, but it's time consuming and annoying to do everytime.

The camera measures 2" x 2". I'm open to making a custom bracket for it, but I'm just concerned about WHERE to place it to accomplish the goal of not making it a target.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
If it was me I would install the camera behind the grill .

Use your after market sound system screen. I toggle between front and rear

No one has a clue you even have a camera. How much data do you need to store before dumping to permanent storage ?

Have you thought about using a inside camera facing out the house/apartment window? This way you can watch the truck from your phone.

I don't know if it still being made. Car alarm sells motion sensor that put a zone around the vehicle. This way the alarm will set before someone goes near the vehicle.

People get hung up on the weirdest things. Stealing a dashcam is right up there with the fear of roving gangs of bed mat thieves.

Dashcams need to be mounted up as high on the windshield as possible. Reducing their vantage is reducing their function. Hardly anyone notices mine, and it's mounted on the old GoPro clip that used to come on these trucks.

Most people put theirs in line with the rear view mirror. Its not noticable there. And if it is, who cares, it's a $150 dashcam.
