I am getting ready to order some extrusion for my build and was wondering if anyone wants to split freight with me? We can tack your order onto mine. I am getting cut to length sections of 80/20 shipped to Sacramento, CA

TECO Technologies quoted me $1,177 w/tax for all of my black anodized extrusion cut to length. The freight came in at approx. $300-400 depending which option is selected (UPS or FedEx).

does anyone know how they are called or where to find them or are they maybe self made?

The weather is colder now and I’m getting a lot of condensation on the inside of the roof. Has anyone come up with a solution for that?

I just want to say thanks to all of you who contributed to this awesome DIY thread and specially to @Ripcord who was so generous to share it's build all in detail. I've learned so many things while building my camper.

I have now finished my version of my wedge camper for my Dodge Ram Pickup. I wanted to share pics and a full video tour to inspire others.

Does the 3mm MaxMetal panel over the cab bow at all for you short bed guys? I am a bit worried about having a large run of the panel over the cab only supported by the sides of the extrusion that it is bolted to. I am debating going up to a 6mm panel for the floor to reduce the chance of bowing/flex with both my wife and I sleeping up there.

    Any comments?

No noticeable bow. When camping most of the weight is towards middle with support and the tail end of the truck. I personally do not see an issue with using 6mm, it would only cost more plus a hair more weight.

For those with modified wedge tens that have the campers head towards the front, then I would beef it up and potentially add a cross support

Thank you for the feedback. I might go 6mm just for peace of mind - the cost difference per sheet I was quoted was like $50, not too bad.

How is everyone dealing the corner brackets on the 80/20? I’m getting a lot of water coming in through there. Like a bucket full every time it rains.

I’ve seen that idea. But is the strip the full 6”. I have water coming through between the joint of the corner bracket to the 80/20. So I’d have to cover the full 6” thickness of the wedge in order to keep water out. I think I’ve only seen this idea done for keeping water out of the seal between the upper and lower halves of the wedge.
