i had a dent in the right rear bumper cover. i removed it to heat the plastic up to push out dent, success. in the process i broke the parking assist radar, i gambled $14 on a replacement on Amazon. i installed it but it doesn't work. does it have to be installed in a certain position? i have read of others who have bought aftermarket sensors and the worked, just don't know if i'm missing something.

    Oh look, another mod....
It needs to be setup in this position:

Also, make sure there is no damage to the BSM device itself or damage to the connectors or connector pins.

You may need to have a scanner to reset the system, the aim may be off, or $14 for a sensor should say something about quality when OEM is probably $100+

the bsm sensors are working. just got it out of the body shop for damage on left side. the dent on the right side was a very small one and it worked before i removed bumper cover. my fault for not unplugging sensor before removing cover and pulling sensor in half.

Usually any time an ADAS item is disconnected a shop would do a scan, and sometime a calibration is needed.

$200 for the sensor, body shop quoted $400 for out source recal. That cost more than the whole system. You know somewhere to get it done reasonably in central alabama? Guess I'll do without that option.
