Hello all! What are you guys with the JBL systems replacing your 2 3/4" dash speakers with? I know the non JBL people are going with the Subaru Kicker 2 3/4 and I would love to use those but, they are not a plug and play option on the JBL set up.

    Thanks!!

Comparing my Subaru tweets to the JBL's in person, the difference is negligible. If they were pnp, they wouldn't sound any better. Why do you want to swap them out?

The ones Kicker for Subaru have a resister/crossover on them that is not needed with the JBL system since the amp does that. I wish they sold a version without it...

Wanting to swap them out because the JBL are trash...

I mean I'm not going to say they aren't.. but why did you get a truck with upgraded factory audio if you're an audiophile, lol? If you're used to high end audio, no factory setup will please you, especially at the price point of these trucks. Those Kickers (which I only got as a temp upgrade) made a bigger impact to my stock setup than I was expecting but they're still pretty trash when compared to my tC setup with Focal's and a Stealthbox. Can't wait to completely overhaul the truck with Focals and a Stealthbox too <3.

I really only came here to say you aren't missing anything by not having those Kickers since you're already on the JBL setup. They clarity is about the same as what's already in there.

Anwyays, seen some other guys on here replace the factory JBL speakers with aftermarket JBL/Infinity speakers (as the ohmage plays nice together) and they seemed to be really impressed with the results. I haven't looked into it much since I didn't waste money on the factory JBL setup since I knew I'd be changing it, but that's pretty much your only option unless you completely gut and rewire/reamp it.

i guess the better question is "how are they trash?"

are you sure it's just the speakers and not a symptom of the jbl system as a whole?
