Bought a full set of 3rd gen shocks off of someone who was upgrading their newer truck. Trying to put the front shocks on my 2006 and having some difficulty fitting them in. Using the method from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkVLBOnAifc i'm having issues getting the shaft to come up enough to be able to put the nut back on. I compared them with my old shocks and my old ones are about an inch or so longer. Do I need to get 3rd gen coil springs as well? Otherwise I end up lifting the whole truck and it doesn't look like the spring compresses anymore.

Also is there any associated hardware I need for these beyond the top nut and washer? Guy I bought them from didn't include those so i'll probably be going to find a replacement for those tomorrow. My stock shocks had an additional washer that was below the top hat as well, i'm assuming I should re-use those?shock.jpg
