So, I've seen the discussion on whether or not to get the dealer ceramic protection plan, but I have not seen any talk of those who got it. I got it on my new Tacoma (the reason I did get it was because I didn't have a choice in a way, but that is a discussion for a later date) and can't find much info on care. I did find something on a "Toyota ProTect", which is something like the Diamond Ceramic plan they have now and it has a condition of it is to bringing it in annually for a checkup.
But under my 7-year warranty it says, "You should maintain the Vehicle by regular cleaning and prompt use of touch-up paint on nicks and scratches", there is not much of anything on care or checkups. Just if I think I need to file a claim or get it checked within 60 days of noticing something.
I've read under the description that they claim there is no need for waxing.

Anyone have any info about this, and should I wax or just do a weekly wash and if I see the water not beading or gloss not shining carrying it in (which I figure would be a long process). I wouldn't mind doing all I could do to protect the coating as long as possible.

Through a lot of reading, I've found that you pretty much just wash and spot clean. Even stopped by my local dealer that I got it from and he said the same thing. If I see its not beading or losing its shine, just bring it in and they'll see if it needs fixing or replacing.
I'm using Meguire's Gold Class Wash and spot cleaning with ONR.

The snake oil “protection” is nothing more than a 5 min spray on job. Don’t treat it any differently than a truck that didn’t come with that markup

So you are basically asking how do you protect the ceramic coating that was installed to protect the clear coat that was installed to protect the paint which was installed to protect the metal! :)

Nah, I was trying to see what others were doing as far as cleaning and maintaining there trucks if they had the ceramic protection on it.

I haven’t been able to find any info on what kind or brand of ceramic coating they put on. It wasn’t my choice to have it put in, so I’m kind of stuck with it.
Just seeing if anyone had experience with it.
