Color - General and Specific

While this is a general list of vehicle colors (over five million in data set) I would expect the Tacoma to not deviate from these percentages much. However, I do not think their monthly builds are to these percentages. Yearly, yes. Monthly or weekly? No. Anyway, we get a lot of questions on this so here ya go:

 

Life is too short to drive boring colored cars.

 

i didn't think black was that popular and would have guessed silver was more popular.

surprised to see brown was even on the list.

I have a white truck and a black one

 

I barely beat out beige...

I had a purple Ford F-150 years ago, people always asked "what's with the purple truck?"

 

I had a yellow Jeep once, it was orange until I painted it. Yellow paint was expensive!!!

 

I have learned that there are great benefits to driving a forgettable color. You don't want to be the car that people see on their morning commute and go "oh, its that fuckwit again. I'd better close the gap before that guy tries to merge."

 

My Tacoma is white, along with about a million other white Tacomas. It is nice to be able to blend in...

 

So is Desert Sand beige or brown....

 

I would like to argue the point that, white and black are shades... not colours. As well as grey/gray

 

Don't forget that MANY work vehicles come in white, greatly skewing these numbers. Then again you can still get a white Tacoma work truck but not nearly as popular as say the F-150.

Technically, white is a color, black is not a color. But...
When I color in my coloring book with my Crayola crayons, I have both a black crayon and a white crayon. Therefore, both are colors because I have those in my crayons.

 

They are still vehicles and fleets could get their trucks in colors if they wanted. They choose white because A) Visibility and B) Cost.

 

Based on this, my colour preference for my next vehicle in order is:

Green
Red
Blue
Silver/Grey

Silver/gray color is without a doubt most popular on the roads here. Even white and black are further down the list than a dark red.

 

Is the GMC Hummer only available in white?

It's the only color I have seen in person and media.


How popular is the lime green going to be for Toyota? The TRD trims of the 4R and Tacoma both are available in lime, which replaces army green.

The existence of white and black crayons, is a pretty week argument. White lightens colours while Black darkens colours.
