I vote for the take care of your truck and keep all records of work and maintenance done to the truck mod. In my opinion I'd buy a well taken care of stock truck over a modded one. There are some exceptions of course

I can't think of a single mod I'd pay extra for on a used truck. I mean considerably extra over the basic used value of the truck without accessories.

Maybe if I was looking to buy something specific - like a welding rig or a flatbed with dog kennels but that's pretty niche and not a "generally available/done moddification"

By the look of some of the asking prices around here, you can take high kbb, add 20%, then add up the retail price of all your mods, and make sure it all adds up to more than you owe on it.

When I drove Corvettes, OEM accessories were highly prized. It was crazy what guys would pay for some of the harder to find OEM stuff that GM offered for these cars.
