Never had a problem with my truck before. It was time for a new battery and the truck had been sitting in the driveway for a week and not been run. battery was so dead that it would not even respond to a jump. Went to get a new battery and installed it. Tried cranking it and it started right up. Then in a split second half the power seemed to vanish. The rpm's stalled and the truck would not respond to the accelerator. I can put it into gear but there's no connection, it just acts like it's in neutral whether in R or D. Several new dash lights came on including: "trac off" "check engine" "battery" "A/T oil temp" and the oil can symbol. Some of those have gone off and come back on, some have remained off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The initial start after disconnecting the battery or replacing a dead battery is going to stall and crap out. The second crank everything should be fine. If you’ve tried turning it over a few times and it’s not operating right then you have some other electrical issue. Recheck battery connections are snug and go from there.

Try disconnecting the battery again, then reconnect and restart.

Moving forward, there's a good process to do with modern Toyotas, heck even after 2000.

Replace the battery like any car, then turn the key on, or smart key to on mode, and leave it for 10 seconds (do not start it first try). On all models it lets the throttle run its cycle and will help it learn the idle much quicker.

On newer 2012+ models it gives the radio/entune a chance to do its initial setup.

    After 10 seconds, start it.

    Are the battery cables tight?

    Try cleaning the throttle body

Thanks all for the inputs. Turned out to be a single 10 amp fuse. Hooked up the scanner, gave us a P2118 code. Checked all the fuses and one 10 was bad. Changed it and the ol' girl ran like a champ ever after.

Do you know what was the root cause, @ChadLyte17? Fuses don't blow for no reason. Keep an eye on it. Something caused that to happen.
