Nice, I did 4.88s through ECGS a couple years ago, no regrets. Went with the harrop e-locker in the front as well, but going limited slip makes more sense if you're not going to be doing any serious crawling. In my opinion, the A-TRAC feature in these trucks works just about as well as a limited slip though so you could probably just skip it. Sounds awful when it engages lol, but it gets the job done for sure.

Unfortunately I got an SR5 so no ATrac or ELocker from the factory, wich is why I'm considering the lsd in the front.

Ah gotcha. Don't have any personal experience with the LSD in question but I'm sure someone will chime in.

Very easy off-roading does not equate to needing anything up front. Save your money.

Also, maybe consider an air locker out back. Personally I would take an air locker over my e-locker.

I have lsd’s front and rear in my truck. If you are willing to lose some fuel mileage all the time for added traction some of the times do it. My truck ended up being about a 1mpg drop with the front lsd. With the lsd you will always be spinning the front driveline where with an open or selectable locker it won’t.

I would take the Eaton over an air locker, in fact that was my plan, with a lsd up front. If you're doing that though it would also be the time to do gears if you're ever going to do them.

The Eaton is vastly superior to the Toyota OEM locker. It's pretty slick. The only negative is it takes about 1/6 of a rotation to engage.

I like that all it takes is 12v's to activate the Eaton locker, other than that they're basically maintenance free. I have heard of issues with internal fittings leaking on ARBs,I would also like to avoid buying, making room/installing an air compressor. I always have my Ryobi tire inflator on hand. On the flip side the ARB is $500 cheaper than the eaton and the engagement is alot better I have read.

I do not mind the 1mpg less, how well does the front LSD do in the snow?

I have been happy with my choice to do it. I just missed the snowfall accumulation last year as my gears took a little over a month longer than quoted because the rep at ecgs was out with Covid. If you have ever driven a fwd or awd car with a front lsd after having an open differential it feels much the same.

Agreed, I had an srt4 with a quaife lsd and it worked very good in rain and snow. I would assume it works similarly to the torsen lsd.

After just doing the bdr run and even up at Gallagher it was noticeable. I debated upon doing a lsd rear and either a harrop or arb up front and I think for the type of driving I do it is just fine.

just pressure washed my body mounts and thay pretty much cut out 80% of the creaking. Sprayed some lube and that fixed the he other 20%. So now it’s confirmed the body mounts and I just need to not be lazy and actually replace them

What Dan said, the Eaton is way nicer than the factory toyota lockers. My stock rear locker I leave locked 24/7 while wheeling so I dont have to deal with it.
Yeah its not millisecond per millisecond as fast as the Arb, but there's really no situation in these trucks where that matters. It does unlock for a split second when going from drive to reverse, but I find it to help when turning since you're usually trying to shuffle/reposition/turn anyways when going from drive to reverse.

Curious how much work is required to install - my rack is leaking a tiny bit and I’ve been looking at this upgrade.

That one looks to have offset bushings so it should be a relatively bolt in affair.

Technically with these new ecentric bushings its all bolt in besides the steering column and some frame clearencing, which I think someone found a factory replacement thats shorter.
The ecentrics are nice since I could swap in a factory rack if absolutely needed, yet I might have some pretty good jitters/vibration in the steering wheel since the rack will be solid mounted.
