Has anyone tried this specific boost? I just rolled over 200k and thought of giving this a shot. My current power is decent. I just need a little more. DB707CC7-0C36-4E41-A10B-B2F09EA25A64.jpg

I guess the questions you should first ask yourself is:
    1) Do you have the know how to work on a project of that magnitude?
    2) Is your pocket deep and heavy?

I would do a compression test and then a leak down and decide from there.

    Why??

Is the real reason just more HP.

A small block Chevy swap would be cheaper with many more options and parts all over the place.

I would say yes and no. I work with compressors. A pretty decent mechanical background. Not a full blown mechanic. I work in oil/natural gas so my pockets are not empty but not crazy full.
I love this truck. But where I live it barely fights the wind. So it’s either spend 50k on a new truck and sell this one. Or upgrade this one.

That’s what I was thinking as well. Would it be easier/cheaper than just doing a bolt on?

An engine swap is not going to be cheaper all said and done no matter what engine you use unless you do 100% of the work.

these 4 cylinders can make some pretty impressive power numbers with boost. They’ll handle 300+Hp easy. If I could afford it mine would have a turbo on it and it’s got 350k miles on it.

If I made you a parts list you would literally laugh and never think about the idea again. Its that bad. Plus the amount of time and effort it takes. Its one of those things that you get into and youre like, I want to coolest truck ever. Then you pay in every way possible for that idea. Then you start wanting to change big ticket items. Its like being a complete junky. Only you possibly get a cool truck out of the addiction.

02hilux knows the deal. Financial gas chamber. Then you have to not give up. My shit looks kinda done but its sooooo not. His looked like mine now when I started and just got done.

This is what I am thinking !

First where do you live what kind of emissions do you need to put up with.

Into hard core off roading where the vehicle sees 45 degrees in either direction making fuel injection mandatory

By 1991 30 plus years ago the small block started fuel injection engines.

Sure you can swap with a brand new crate engine and all the assorted electronics and wiring issues.

Go simple and easy? when you have no control with the go pedal

OP it comes down to what you want.
