Since day 1 in this truck, it makes a whistle at certain RPMs, regardless of the gear. The dealer always claims they can not replicate it. Best I can tell it's coming from something in the driveline.

I have only found one other person with the same problem so far, also on a white DCSB manual.

    See his video here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/H6DXOaDq3Os

At my last service, the dealer offered to replace the rear diff. Does anyone think a bad rear diff would cause this noise?

    few things here and there.
That is the strangest thing I’ve ever heard. It’s almost.. peaceful and scary at the same time.

I don’t think it’s the rear dif though. I’ve never heard a RD make a sound like that.

Silly question, but was your foot on the accelerator or did you let off? It almost sounds like a vacuum issue. I’m merely speculating, going only off of video quality duplication.

So you feel anything when it occurs? Vibrating, shutter, grind?

Can it be heard from the outside while driving?

For them to claim they cannot reproduce however.. I’d 100% show them the video and take them on a drive and show them yourself.

Could be something simple, harness and easy to correct.

In the off chance it’s not, since you’ve noticed it from the jump, I’d 100% make this their problem.

I don’t remember what part or function makes the noise but that is tied to the operation of the engine.

no, I would not have them touch the diff. Diffs don’t make noise for 2 seconds.

Pretty sure that's the AC whistle. Check out this TSB here.

That is the infamous 3rd gen A/C whistle. It is not your drivetrain. @ktbell444 has provided you with the TSB to take to the dealer if you want it fixed. Mine does it but it is not so bad that I want to take it in for them to tear down the dash and end up with rattles in place of the whistle.
