You can buy a "pump saver" pressure switch. It looks just like a regular one except it has a manual lever on the side.

If the well gets low and pressure falls off it trips, to reset you hold the lever for a few seconds. They only cost a few dollars over the regular style.

    Lowes: $39.08

He said he was cold he last couple of days while hunting and had chills, unusual for him he's sweating profusely until it's in the teens where he starts getting comfortable.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Glad to hear you are symptom free so far, Carl!!

Lynn thought she was coming down with a cold - decided to test yesterday before heading out to meet with a bunch of people....COVID positive. I'm negative at this point but have a sore throat and some congestion. Allergies? Maybe. Or maybe it's another time for me, too. Isolation for us for the week.

Seems to be a resurgence here in our area - Lynn called to cancel her and her Mom's dentist appointment for today - 3 of 6 staff are out and 8 people had already called to cancel their appointments due to COVID infections.

    Stay safe out there!!

Welcome to the porch, When you get a chance post up a pic of your Tacoma.

    Carl: Get well quickly.

Yesterday was 3 loads of the topsoil mix for the Tacoma. A half scoop of the mix was the limit for my 2WD 4 cyl Tacoma.
Today is a medical appointment and them a load of topsoil mix. My wife is off to have lunch and hike with an old college roommate so I will not have her help. We shall see if I am up for a second load.

Have a great day everyone. Pic below is the progress after 3 truck loads and always happy to share a pic of the Tacoma earning it's keep.20221010_121005.jpg 20221010_122727.jpg

    Um... WHY???

Look, we all have our foibles... but do we have to pollute every stinkin' thread with pictures of trucks that are ubiquitous on every thread on these fora? I mean... it's not like we don't see pictures of Tacos enough already.

One of the wonderful things about this thread is that we are too mature to be fascinated by our trucks. Tacos are great, fun trucks... but I personally don't give a sliced rat's ass if I ever see just another picture of something I already see every stinkin' day of my life.

    (Let the flaming begin...)

Amazing how much more ambition I get for these home projects - when the 100º+ days go away....... Working on upgrading the fence panels behind the house with a "snake fence" - 1/2" mesh x 24" tall tightly fitted between posts. I got the #16 wire, galvanized and plastic coated, stainless fasteners and so forth. This will result in a roughly 30" barrier. Don't want to do this twice..... This back fence was originally built with a row of blocks seated at ground level and a decorative iron "view fence" above, between block pillars. Lovely to look at, keeps stray livestock off the porch, lets coyotes and javelinas know people and dogs may be about - but lets the damn toads and rattlers wander right into the garden....... Had two good sized sidewinders in 10 days, so enough is enough.... This crawling activity to insure the perfect joints I want is hard on the bones. Did two panels over the weekend, only 75 or 80 more feet to go.

Two nice Coues(?) deer showed up to inspect the work Sunday eve - a doe and fawn. They are a desert whitetail - a bit more petite than what we would see in Wyoming.

Saw many Coues white tail deer when I was in Arizona. BTW, most people pronounce that as "cows". The species was named after an army officer who pronounced it "cooze."

    Correct.

The moment the pump pulls air the switch shuts it off protecting the pump from further running dry.

I believe 10 psi is the actual cut out point, been a while since I read the specs.

The user is responsible to determine when to reset the switch after the well has had time to replenish.
