They don't raise the height of the seat. They angle the seat back to a more comfortable sitting degree. So, height is a mute point. Worst case is you need to tilt the steering wheel upward to allow addition space foe you knees.

6 ft #205 front Desert Does It seat jackers and I have a moon roof. Makes the seat way more comfortable I just have to remember to slide in or I bang against the steering wheel not really an issue tho.

^ this... And it isn't all about height either, I'm 6'4", but my inseam is 36"... That's where the illconceived seat angle was getting me...

As a guy that owns a business, I will have to say that most things are made in China, and most of us Americans are basically middlemen.

That isn't the case with everything, but there isn't much way to know what metals get used for parts.

That is why I had asked about it.

If I do get a set, I will probably try to source bolts that I know are good metal.

Being 6'2 and 250, I am pretty scared of the seat being ripped out in a collision, which may happen anyway. lol

Also, anyone with a moon roof is already losing some space due to the lower roof.
I almost got the moon roof until I finally seen someone tall complaining about it.

Hi all, question from someone that doesn't have their tacoma, yet. I'm expecting a TRD Pro in about a month, which I believe has 8 way power seating. Any of you using these on those seats? Is it still required?

    Thanks!

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
Everything I've read says the power seats adjust enough to not require this.

6"3', 200lbs, 34" inseam, bad L5/S1, no sunroof. I got the desert does it seat jackers for the front of the seats. It made a world of difference to me. I used to have to put the seat all the way back for my legs, then my arms were pretty much fully extended. Now it is not all the way back, my arms are at a more comfortable position, and my thighs have support so my legs are not cranking on my lower back anymore. I just drove 6500 miles in about 30 days. I never could've done that before.

I have a 2022 Pro with power seats. I still installed the FRONT Seat Jackers and I love them. I keep the bottom adjustments of the seat as low as it will go and it feels great. This gives me additional adjustments if I want to lift the front even more on a long drive. I just did back-to-back 6 hour driving days and the seat was very comfortable. No complaints.

I am 5ft 9in and I do not have any running boards. I find myself sliding across the bottom bolster of the seat getting in and out. I don't want to wear down the side bolster of the seat over time so I try to hop out in and out of the seat. A grab handle like I had in my 2002 would be perfect.

I have a 2020 Pro - put the Desert Does It Jackers on the driver seat only - my wife has no issues with the passenger side seat. My issue was the way the seat hit the back of my legs - on long trips it caused sciatica and no amount of adjustment seemed to help. The jackers worked perfectly for me - took the truck on a 1600+ mile trip and had no problems with sciatica as I'd had before installing the jackers.

It does affect your entry - causes me to have to turn a bit more carefully to exit the truck so I don't drag my foot along the door/pillar on my way out.

Seat Jackers absolutely do raise the height of the front of the seat- how do you think these change the angle of the seat? Go look at the description on the website- the second bullet point literally says Lifts FRONT of seat 1.25 inches. If you are already driving with the steering wheel tilted all the way up already, and you install these, you will have less legroom beneath the steering wheel. It felt cramped to me.

Everybody swears that these things magically fix the seating position, so I tried them. I did not find them to be an improvement.

I'm 6'-2" and I think the seat risers will make a difference. I've not driven more than 15 miles since installing them, but there seems to be an improvement.
FWIW, I just made my own from 1" thick aluminum stock. I took some trial and error to get the dimensions correct, but making them was easy. I didn't think to take any pictures, but here's a quick drawing.

After making them with 1" material (the thickest stuff I had available), I chose to mill off .10" to reduce the height a bit. Also, for the 7/8"" diameter counterbored hole, I didn't have a 7/8" end mill, so I used a 7/8" woodworking Forstner bit. The large counterbored hole allowed me to reuse the stock seat bolts.

You are correct in that they increase the height of the front of the seat... IF you install the rear set then it's an over all lift of the seat. My point is this... the GEOMETRY of the seating position is altered, PLUS the front only seat jackers will NOT raise your rear-end, only the FRONT of the seat under your thighs. (This is specifically called out I believe in the DDI website, along with several YouTube reviews). Can't remember anyone saying anything magical happening upon install. Sorry they didn't work out for you. Individual physical differences may not match the seat geometry in original or altered states... Just the way it is...

Using fronts only, your head will absolutely be closer to the ceiling than stock. Unless you bend your rear seat brackets to compensate, they are clearly lifted from their original position when you install the front risers. It’s not a full 1.25” but definitely noticeable, maybe .25-.50”.
I have a sunroof, very little head room and I already keep my wheel as high as it goes. I was a naysayer until I got a set of DDIs from a member and tried them.
Despite a narrower gap between the seat/wheel and having even less clearance between the top of my head and the roof, I found they made the seat so much more comfortable that I never removed them after my initial test. I’ve had to adjust how I enter and exit the vehicle, but the comfort is worth the trade offs for me.
Only commenting because I want to share an opinion from a converted hater. I also want others to have realistic expectations. If you only have an inch or two of clearance between the top of your head and the roof, installing these will reduce that clearance even more

Why do you live be them?
Im right at 6' and I have read that they do make it more comfortable for long legs people as the front of the seat is angledore, allowing more of the leg to come into contact with the seat... Is this an accurate assessment

Their customer service is excellent. I gave them a five star review on their website but stated that I removed them because they didn’t work well for me. They said they’ll give me a full refund if I ship them back.

Got the same seat jackers. Metal and construction seem pretty bomber. I like how it has solid fabbed mounting points to the existing seat frame. Takes a few drives to get used to, but worth it.

Yes the contract with your legs helps. I also have the rear of the seat elevated and a small lumbar cushion. It's literally like I'm sitting in my recliner at home. My first ever drive was over 600 miles bringing my truck home and my leg fell asleep.
