Truck Camping Photo Thread

Finally got a good long road trip from Detroit to Yellowstone in last week with a stop at Mount Rushmore along the way.

What pop up is that and do you mind if I get a glance of what the inside looks like?

 

Just a sleeping pad and bag under my camper shell. Nothing fancy.

 

Beautiful night out near Mt. Hood a few nights ago.

 

Spooky season camping is in full force.

 

Still out wandering around. Spent four nights in Vegas, then back to the tent. Found a really nice site on the South Rim Grand Canyon to spend the weekend.

 

It's an AT Summit. I've had it for 6 months and have only a dozen nights in it due to working too much. No regrets- just need to get out more!

Built a very simple platform with memory foam mattress for camping. Tried it out during the week and it worked perfectly for my needs. Very happy with it and the nice camping weather

 

A few of our camp spot during last weekends TW Wisconsin Color run.

 

Camped out at three different spots with three different groups of friends each day last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Camping, shooting, and wheeling. Then, I did parts of a trail with my last group of friends to take the scenic route home. It was a good weekend of truck camping.

 

Siiiiiiiiiiiiick! Do you guys have like a local group crew or something?

 

With all these hobbies and social media, I just ended up making all kinds of friends. Lol

One is a private gun enthusiast/pro-2A group from Facebook. The other friends are people I met along the way because of the Tacoma I drive and they bring their friends who eventually become my friends. It’s a beautiful cycle of a growing community of hobbyists. Lol!

 

Hell yeah! It seems like I am missing a lot of the groups due to the fact that I have never had Facebook and I been off of IG for a couple of months already. Another thing is that Ventura doesn’t have legal places to wheel or have fun whatsoever. For me the next trip I have planned it’s 2023 KOH and a coworker wants to go to hungry valley ohv, but we’ll see.

 

I’ve never really explored it, but there could be some spots at Los Padres NF.

If you don’t mind the drive, you can try going farther up north to Santa Margarita / San Luis Obispo area and hit up the Cuesta Ridge Botanical Area via TV Tower Rd. off of 101Hwy. Just be careful turning into/exiting the driveway/street at the highway. Cars go fast downhill there. Anyway, there are places on TV Tower Rd. to hike, ride mtb, dispersed camping, go wheeling. I just don’t think plinking/target shooting is allowed up there.

This was my campsite off of TV Tower Rd. for a night above the clouds on my way up to catch up with our group in Big Sur. It can get super windy there, so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.
