    It seems as tho putting up the sticks and platform would require alot more effort than a climbing stand; I've hunted from a climber since day one and (so far) its not too big of a pain to climb a tree.

    I'd say its no easier or tougher to hang sticks and a platform vs a climber. But again, I don't think a saddle is a replacement for any kind of setup; just a different tool to achieve the same goal. The biggest advantage the saddle has over the climber is climbing crazy trees (with tons of branches/leaning/etc). In my very limited access to properties, sometimes the best tree for me is one that I'd never be able to get a climber in. While on the opposite side of the argument, sometimes the best tree is one a climber would be preferred for an all day sit type of setup. I'm not here to sell a saddle being better by any means, I still use both. I'm just wondering if anyone here uses one/has knee pad solutions.

    Have you considered ground blinds. I’ve killed my last 2 bucks on the ground.

    Oh yeah, have one of those too! Just another tool for the job. Haven't killed one from a blind yet, but definitely watched a couple. Had a group of turkeys nearly run me over in one 3 years ago lol.
