This is the most used tool in my set. Love impact drivers and that little battery is light but lasts forever. I even left it in the rain overnight once by accident. Still works =)

    I appreciate the input.

It's literally only going to be used to blow grass and fertilizer off of the driveway and sidewalk. If it's stronger than a hair dryer and lasts for 10 minutes, that would be about perfect.

I have zero need for a chainsaw and I have a 4 stroke trimmer so I'm all good there.

I use the DCBL720. A couple years ago HD used to have sales with it and a 5Ah battery for $159. I have had no problems with it running 15-20 mins a week for maybe 3 years. The batt dies after ~20 mins. It is plenty powerful for home use moving wet leaves and clearing small gravel on cement so it is not a waste of time as a tool.

Recently Milwaukee had their 18V Fuel blower (tool only) on sale at HD for under $100 so
that makes $80 for a used dewalt sound a bit expensive. But if you get the dewalt with a 5Ah batt or larger it might be worth it.

The DCBL722 is 20V. It’s the updated version of the 720.

The DCBL772 is the Flexvolt blower.

Simply a typo. Yes the 772. I promise I know what I have, and it’s apparent the OP in question doesn’t care. He needs a small blower.

What did you hear about leaving the battery in the blower, does it corrode or something? I have kept the same and usually fully-charged 5Ah in mine for a few years without any apparent problems, yet... ?

Early units had an issue where if you left the battery in them with the trigger locked on, it would drain the battery. That was fixed several years ago.

A bunch of the reviews on Amazon said the blower worked great but if they left the battery in, it would drain the battery and make it not charge any more.

Buddy of mine had a blower very similar if not exactly that one. It was pretty okay, though my flexvolt version kicked its ass. (Admittedly, flexvolt is a dangerous — read: expensive — path to go down.)

I have the flexvolt blower and its awesome. I still mainly use it on my patio, deck, driveway and walkway surfaces, but its way faster and less hastle than getting a gas blower out of the shed and fired up. Plus the wife will use it too. When we need to do our big leaf cleanup in the fall, I'll use a backpack gas blower and she'll use the flexvolt and together we can move a big leaf pile to the curb very efficiently.

Unfortunately that blower was sold by the time I messaged him.

Then another one showed up but I didn't want to text him at 10:30 last night when I saw it so I did at 7:30 this morning and he said there's a pending pickup at 6:00 tonight. Can't win lately.

I have a DWS779 that is part of the recall, Dewalt was pretty quick to get the replacement parts sent to me.

Side note - I installed the XPS Shadow Light and it is awesome, highly recommended.

It’s been bothering me for a while that I had all cordless tools and a corded task light. I’ve had my eye on the DCL043 and I picked up one up on FB marketplace for a good bit off retail. Dewalts lighting options seem expensive for what they are across the board, but I didn’t want another battery just for a light or an integrated rechargeable that would probably always forget to charge.

Seems impressive in the back yard, can’t wait to take it camping or some night construction work and test it at range.

My friend has two of these, super handy. Many late night wrench sessions with these in tow.

I've got a 921 impact, a hammer dill, impact driver, and a 60v skilsaw that I got used on Craigslist for a steal - $75 and a battery. Only issue was breaking 2 of the 921's in one day, right out of the box, started really going to town on the lower a-arm bolts, and it started sounding like someone dumped gravel in the impact mechanism. Took that one back, second one started doing the same thing in less than 20 min of use! That one I opened up and it had two tiny ball bearings rattling around and I couldn't figure out where they came from. Luckily Lowe's replaced both of them and I haven't had issues with the third yet - but almost made me want to cut and run to team red.
