I searched the forum but couldn't find anything specific about this, please redirect me if I am wrong.

Does anyone have experience/advice/photos of any suspension upgrades on a 1st gen 2WD tacoma?

I know its not meant for off-roading, I use it to commute and lug stuff around. However I would like a taller ride, but nothing too extreme.

    Any advice/experience is much appreciated.

    Thanks

For what you want, anything beyond a Spindle and AAL is asking for trouble aka things will break

I have a 1998 2WD and I went with Bilstein HDs. I put Bilsteins on all my cars... It was a great upgrade, and it handles pretty good now. 1996-2004 17x8 Mustang Bullit wheels had the right offset, and I went with 245/40/17 tires.

The more you raise rear on rwd, can cause the that rear hop....
I'd just put a good set shocks/struts on it as they said above...

Bilsteins will give you stiffer than oem ride.....

Raising the front is not cheap...if you raise ass up too much.....puts whole drive train in unnatural position.....

I have oem setup except ykb rear shocks......and I can load up a bunch of scaffold and not dent springs too much.....
