All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

I like that it's all natural colors too and showcases the figure of the wood.

Any of you use Bareknuckle pickups? I just got a set for my Tele build. I went with medium output. Usually use Seymour Duncans, so I thought I would give the company a chance. They have good reviews.

I ended up making the pickguard work….. took out the old dremel (or the ryobi equivalent in my case) and very carefully (ish) removed enough of the rosewood from the pickguard from the outer edges only and that seem to be close enough to trick the eye or at least my eye into making it look good. Added some ebony bridge pins with abalone because everyone knows more abalone makes a guitar sound better and it’s done. I thought it turned out quite nice.

Any of you play a Gibson ES125? They look like they would make a great dirty blues guitar with that p90 at the neck.

But just look at this. It's an f hole accoustic with a p90!

Literally building a tele and looking for a fourth accoustic / electric. I may sell a few guitars and an amp soon though. Only so I can make room for different stuff.

LP's are notorious for tuning issues. I think its partly due to the HS angle. Any upgrade to the tuners should help. I just replaced the Kluson's on mine with Non-locking Grovers. Seems much more snug, and a little finer adjustment. You can use a pencil to rub a little graphite in to the grooves on the nut, will help to lube the strings and keep them from digging and sticking.

I did the pencil lead trick on the last string change and it helped a bit but my G and B strings go out of tune pretty quick with any amount of bending. I'm working on a BB King tune right now in my lessons, so that's a problem ! I'm not entirely sure I wrapped them right the last time I changed them so I'm hoping the locking tuners solve that problem.

unless I am mistaken I think with the locking tuners you want as little wrap as possible...maybe 2 at the most? Others can comment....opinions?

On mine you just stick the string threw, pull it taught, tighten your lock, and snip off the excess. No wraps. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. I really want a set on my Taylor seeing that I constantly play that guitar it required more changes.

Yeah, no wraps are required, just as long as the string is making some contact/tension with the peg (so maybe 1/2 wrap minimum). A couple wraps won't hurt either though; you just don't want a big stack of wraps whereas there is room for damping or slippage/stretching later.

A couple things to keep in mind when dealing with tuning issues (just general feedback/reminders that I'm sure most of us here already know)
    - remember that new strings always need some stretching and re-tuning; it's not uncommon for a new set to go out of tune a few times after a little bit of playing until they've stretched. Sometimes amidst the frustration of trying to fix things, this gets forgotten and just adds to the headache.
    - might be a setup/intonation issue; if intonation is off you'll be tuned on the open string, but not all the way down the fretboard.
    - bridge/saddle issue; I had a guitar with a graphtec bridge once where one saddle would dislodge during a heavy string bend. It wasn't obvious until I realized the string was suddenly out of tune. Would have to loosen, thread the little screw back in, then eventually it would happen again. I didn't keep that bridge very long.
    - nut issue; the pencil/graphite/lube in the slots can help... but if the slot is cut too tight, it can still bite the string and prevent you from getting a proper tune (tunes, but then later the slot gives and relaxes the string, putting it out of tune again). Might need to slightly file the slots and/or replace the nut (recommend getting a good luthier to do this if you're not confident tackling it yourself).
