Hi all. Just bought a low mileage 2006 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 Crewcab. Absolutely loving so far and loving this site and all of the incredible info to be found here!

Anyway, I have read a bunch on here about 3rd Gen suspension on a 2nd Gen, but haven’t found the answer I’m looking for.

I picked up a set of 3rd Gen shocks from a 2021 TRD Off Road, but the guy was reusing his coil springs. I have new-ish coils on my current shocks. Will the existing coils fit on the new shocks? If not, can I use a spacer or do I have to source new TRD Off Road springs?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

IMO, they will fit like a glove. Just don't be looking for that 1" of lift that everyone talks about. I'd take a close look at the top hat on each side to make sure they/re not worn out or flattened.

Thanks for the info. I have already ordered new top hats and will replace them at the same time!
