Hello! Hoping for some support in what to do with my 2007 Tacoma with 232,000 miles on it. I have an estimate for $4k of work (ball joints, etc.) and not sure a what point it’s not worth it.

Welllll, I haven’t looked much, before now, and I see a crack in the rusty frame, behind the right front wheel that doesn’t seem good!

Normally, I’m pretty mechanical. This crack has me wondering where my limit is on putting $ in to this.

What year is it? Right now Toyota can replace frame if it's 2010 or later for free.

Don’t put the $4k into it. That frame is cooked imo. Was the repair quote from the stealership?

Personally I think it's time to move on.

No, from a local mechanic who does not OEM parts. Estimate included both lower bearings, left axle, exhaust fix and muffler.

Sooo,….what would you do with it? How does one move on, most effectively?

Welcome to TW! I wouldn't put too much money into it as that frame looks like it's pretty much done for with that large of a crack :(

What’s the ethical way to move on? Never been at this point with a vehicle.
