So after spending all day Monday and a couple hours yesterday and today after work I finally got my rack and pinion replaced with all associated lines and hoses. Then I go to connect the pressure hose to the pump and it strips right out due to what I believe was severely over tightend from the factory so I ended up having to replace the pump and re-tap the bolt. So finally after all this and everything back together I go for a test drive and I make it about a house down my street and I get this crazy loud vibration type nose and feed back through the pedals. I am thinking it's something to do with the abs or wheel speed sensor. After a quick look I didn't see any obvious damage to the wire or sensor itself. And it's late so I will continue again tomorrow after work and thought I would see if you guys agree from your experience or if I need to look into something else.

    Thanks for any ideas/feedback.

@b_r_o Thank you very much it was late for me last night and didn't get to search to0 deep but that was the exact issue. I went out and did that first thing this morning and problem solved. Now I just need to get an alignment done.

Great! Nice when something that sounds quite complicated is resolved with a computer recalibration. A lot of knowledgeable Tacoma owners on here. I'm not one of them! Haven't had mine 6 months yet.

I’m in corpus as well, not sure where you headed for alignments but I’ve done several if your looking to save a buck or two.

You may have to do a recalibration again after the alignment is done for everything to be happy.

@vhinojosa4735 I'm on the south side and did the tape measure alignment last night and got the front and back side to 61 and 15/16ths. So, I think I am sitting pretty good as I paid for an alignment earlier this year when I replaced my upper and lower control arms, CV's, Hubs, and tie rod ends. The only thing that should have changed in this evolution should be the toe in or out. I am in need of new wheels and tires so I plan to do a realignment at that point and time. I am feeling this should get me by until then.

However, I am experiencing some slop in my wheel since I replaced the rack and it's not a lot probably a couple degrees of movement left or right when you initially move the wheel and I need to disconnect the steering column from the rack as my wheel is just off center somehow. I had my wife holding the wheel when I was reconnecting everything to ensure it wouldn't move and be off. If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to them. I am also going to contact the vender to see if I might have somehow just gotten a bad one.

I would go over everything and make sure all mounting points are snug from the frame to the knuckles.
