So, my wife is in need of a new suv and she’s looking at the 2022/23 Chevrolet Equinox LT. couldn’t convince her to go Toyota.
Any of you guys own one and what has your experience been like with it?

    TIA.

What's the appeal of the Equinox for her over, say, a Rav4 or CRV?

If the AWD system is anything like on the older ones, it will let your tires spin for a bit then it will suddenly grab and throw you in the ditch.

Had a 2010 Equinox, both the engine blew (oil loss due to bad bushings) and transmission pressure plate shattered due to improper heat treatment in China. Both their fault, neither covered. $10k. No more Chevy for me.

My parents had a 2016. Electronics started having gremlins around 20k miles. Interior lights would dim on their own, radio would lower or increase volume on its own. Would burn oil a bit. They got rid of it and bought a rav4

Well… we got it. She was in love with her 2008 Grand Cherokee, but the thing was ready to die. I hated the thing. Way too many problems. The new ones got ridiculously expensive.
She’s used to the cabin space and the equinox was the only one in our price range that would satisfy her. Now to pray it behaves.
    Thanks for the replies.

I bought a brand new first year 2005 Equinox. Currently has 12x,xxx miles on it. I replaced the battery and a tranny oil cooler line that rusted. It's been a solid vehicle. It's a V-6 front wheel drive, pretty basic.

My Mom has a 2014 - drinks oil like crazy.
My brother has 2013- Eats oil like gas and needed timing chains.
My step mom had a 2019 - used so much oil and timing chains were slapping.

All under 100k miles. Brother is waiting on his hybrid rav4 to come in.
