Just remember these engines like to rev to make power. If you're not hitting 3,500 or 4,000 RPM, you're not going to be making. The power of these engines are capable, of. Which may I remind you is more than the second gen.

And the manuals have 4.30 axle gear ratios which is also deeper than the second gen.

To be fair: aren't you lifted with larger tires? If so, did you regear?

Definitely unfortunate they discontinued the trans cooler. But they did so in the Tundra as well. I'm not sure about the new generation though

Correct. Parts savings in assembly mean money saved overall. Most customers don't need them, hence the decision.

I agree, they never should have been taken out.

Most customers not needing them is highly debatable, but I get what you're saying.

Edit: it looks like Toyota added the cooler back to the new Tundra. That's definitely good. I remember TFL testing out Toyota's decision and they weren't even towing near capacity if I remember. The trans temp was well above the point where the fluid starts to break down.

Yeah my truck is extra heavy. I have added tires plus skid plates, sliders and gear. Bed rack. Ect. I’m going to pin my trans open before the next trip in October. Didn’t regear.

Hey guys! Im a student at UofM right now and just bought a 2022 4x4 SR. I wanna slowly build my truck up myself. Right now I scored a deal on brand new Fox 2.0's for $750 total. I dont really want to dish out the $400-600 in labor costs for install so I was thinking of installing it myself. Id rather spend money on tools. Is there anyone around the area that could help me install or even just look over my work once I finish?

MI peeps, I am finally getting my stuff together and will be having a few parts to sell priced for local pickup. Most is large enough that shipping will be a hassle, so I am posting up here before going wide in the classified.

Victory 4x4 t case skid - aluminum - Victory notes as 05+, so 2nd and 3rd gen compatible - never mounted, just dirty from sitting - have both the standard exhaust and reroute exhaust plates and hardware - currently $540 at Victory, picked up from me north of GR $250

Friend of mine has been working on the 2024 taco. Said they are going to start building 90 of them next week here in Michigan.

They're not going to be built in the truck plants in Texas/Mexico?

I’m sure the production will go there after the concept vehicles are built. I’ll ask them tomorrow.
