Yes, I firmly believe these have helped with the gap that was forming between my besides and tailgate. I have a shell. These also offer great tie down spots. Finally after installing mine and seeing where the bed actually starts to split, I wish I would have gotten OP's brand as they are the only ones that go up further and in my opinion that is where some splitting occurs also the others don't help with.

For those that asked, these TC stiffeners can be a worthwhile upgrade. Besides stiffening the bedsides, they add more versatility as worthy tie down points. Bought mine new and no regrets.

On a downside, the TC oem powdercoat is not great. Also, if you have and AMP bed extender, you will need to fabricate extension spools and shim plates for the bed extender to still work.
