One of my leaf springs received a bend at the forward end near the bolting eye. I was wondering if I took it off the truck and heated it up to straighten, if the heating would weaken the spring?

Not likely. You will remove the temper. It will weaken the spring greatly.

Time for a lift. Else if you are willing to wait for a local pickup, you can usually pickup a takeoff OE leaf spring pack cheap.

I assume the vehicle from behind went up under the truck and hit the right side wheel and tire, putting this same knuckle at the front of the spring. Attached is a picture of the right damage side and a picture of the left normal undamaged side.

With that much bend I'll bet a tape measure will show a difference in wheel base between the good and bad side. The spring should be replaced as the metal properties have been changed at the bend and it could fail there at some point and that is the main leaf.

Thank you for your advice. Does anyone have a good set of used springs that you know of?

Check your local Facebook Marketplace/craigslist pages. I see 3rd gen takeoff suspensions with very low mileage for sale all the time. Often for very cheap.

The coverage on leaf springs are 3 years or 36k miles. Bring it in to the dealer and see if they can contact Toyota to perform a goodwill replacement. I would get it in asap because the longer you go past 36k miles the less likely they will cover it.

The truck was rear ended. This bent the spring. I'm not seeing the dealer changing these.

You don't buy a truck for its fucking fenders!
    2.5" lift w/35's
Dealer won't warranty accident damage. I'd just buy a leaf pack or find someone who is lifting their truck and buy their stock springs for cheap

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
WOW... just boggles my mind that a dealer, anywhere, would sell a truck with a main leaf bent like that.

I know there sre shady a-holes everywhere... but that's just not safe.

I bought the truck this way and it had been in a rear end accident, so toyota will not be covering any replacement. Thanks for information. If anyone knows of some stock leaf springs for sale please let me know.

Did you purchase it certified from a toyota dealership?
