    Howdy,
Just bought a 2007 Tacoma Sport and need new tires. 80% road travel and 205 off road. Live in Idaho and have long winter with lots of snow. Driving to Baja for 3 months this winter. Looking at the Falken Ruitrek A/T but am open to other suggestions. COnsidering both P265 65 R17 and P265 70 R17? Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks

I love my Hankook DynaPro AT2
They do great off-road for me in loose dirt.
Never really sank them in deep mud, because I hate mud. I avoid it.
I’ve cribbed them sidewalls pretty good on landscape rock and pavers.
So far, not punctures yet :fingerscrossed:

I had the AT/M before the AT2. (The same tire just not “snowflake” rated)
I got over 70k miles out of them too.

They now make an AT2 Xtreme.
I’ll probably get those next time. But that will be awhile, just got 20k on the current tires.

20% offroad is a big number. I would suggest 10 ply.

I wore out a set of SL Coopers quickly simply due to gravel roads chewing them up. I'm running E rated tires now and have much better results, better tread life and better wear.

What's really crazy is how much more tread those Falken Rubitreks have in E rated. 18/32nd vs 14/32nd P rated. It's a good choice, but I have no experience with them.

I love my Toyo open country ATIII's. Have had them for 16,000 miles and have lost only 3/32nds of tread doing rotates every 3,000 miles. I got the Load range E 10 Ply and though they are heavy I started out with 16/32nds or tread rather than the SL rated tire which had 13/32nds. I would recommend going to 265/70/17. It fills the wheel well nicely and looks aggressive yet not over the top and reasonable for on road use.
